Life and Future at Thapar

The course syllabus and the subjects we are taught here are very relevant like in the first semester we were taught Engineering Drawing (AutoCAD etc), Manufacturing Processes , Mathematics , Physics , C and C++. The teachers are very qualified (most of them have a PhD from IITs or other ivy league colleges)

Many tech companies hire interns from here stipend ranging from 10k to 50k per month. If its a tech company they expect you to have some good projects in your github repository OBV. Companies like Adobe and Microsoft hire early than others so >try to crack in.

Placements are really good here considering the fact that it is a private college. Companies like Amazon, Google , Apple too recruit from our campus with really good salary offerings. I cant tell a lot about the placements as I am a 1st year student here

Being a private college, the tuition fees is obviosly a lot more than govt colleges. With that being said I never really felt that any part of my money is wasted. We have upto 100% fee waiver(tuition fee only) depending on the merit and CGPA. Our college provides ample amount of internship oppurtunities . Stipend offered depends from association to association. generally its around 25k per month. Placements are really good too , even in this recession period Thapar is living upto the expectations. and even more

Ive always been an extroverted guy so college life has been one hell of an experience for me as I can socialise easily. But for those who dont tend to make friends easily , Thapar has over 50 technical/social socities covering every aspect like music, coding , dancing, acting etc etc etc. The library IS THE MOST SATISFYING PLACE for me in the campus. They have almost every book ever written ( as per my needs ....haha). The hostel life too is really amazing . We have lots of fests going on most of the time

Hostel rooms for first years are OK OKish. But from 2nd year onwards its almost a 4 star hotel (obv a pvt college). The mess food is REALLY GOOD (punjab hai khana toh achha hoga hi) . We have 16 hostels inside the campus 11 for boys and 5 for girls. Dont worry the sex ratio here is quite good. Hostel fees is very justifiable and affordable

The admission process was easy and swift a separate admission form is expected to be filled by JEE aspirants who wawnt to take admission in this college. The form is of 1500rs . Admission is taken on the basis of JEE percentile/rank. So yeah its pretty swift and easy
