Course Curriculum Overview

Course Curriculum here in thapar is same as that of most of the indian engineering institutes. For the First year its basic 12 11-12th concepts and from 2nd yr onwards your core branch relatd subjects begin

Two Internship opportunities are avialable, first one is the summer internships offered after the end of 6th sem a dnthe second is main internship that is kind of mandatory offered in 7th sem for 8th sem. stipend offered is also good mainly between 50000-1 lac for summer and avg 4-6 lacs for 6 months

Placement Experience

Yes, Campus invites a lot of companies for campus placements opportunities like JP Morgan, Bain, Atlassian, Amazon, Flipkart, Black rock etc. From Semester 5 students become eligible for summer internships and from 7th semester students become eligible for 6 months internships. Highest Package offered was 51 lacs by Microsoft or Amazon. 70-80 % placement rate

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is different for Different Branches with most expensive being the CS Branches followed by Mech, Civil,Biotech, chemical respectively. Yearly merit scholarships are available that are based on you CGPA. Financial Assistance to some level are provided by college.

Campus Life

Campus life here is above average for an indian college, as exposure is good as well as gender ratio. 1 Annual sports fest named URJA and Annual Techno Cultural Fest named Saturnalia are held in Feb and November respectively. Mostly all the necessary Books require for course curriculum are available in the library. Class rooms here are well equipped with AC, projectors, Lecture theater etc. Campus offer all main sports activities and have seperate complex for the same. Here we have more than 40 Student clubs and societies

Hostel Facilities

Hostel Rent is approx 56500 per semester with additional 24000 mess fees. We have different hostels and most of them are double sharing with ac and attached bathroom. Meal Quality is good but not constant, ups and downs are there. i hae rented a room in Hostel D

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

Admission Process was not so much of a hassel. Admissions here are based on two criteria i.e JEE MAINS score or 12th Percentage score, for CS major streams you have to have atleast >96% in 12th Boards or >98 percentile in JEE MAins

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it.
