My review

The curriculum is balanced with enough time to upskill oneself in things like coding, hackathons etc and enjoy events and fests. It sure gets hectic when exams are near with assignment submissions and projects. Exams are conducted twice a semester - mid semester exams and end semester exams (along with quizzes and lab practicals).

I am a first year student and has not taken up any internship role yet. I am working to learn more skills to strengthen my resume so that I may be able to grab a good internship opportunity in future.

There's a 10% increase in the fees of each branch for every new batch. The average fees of each semester is Rs. 3,50,000. The college also offers various scholarships like merit scholarships, merit cum means scholarships, alumni scholarships, and many more from time to time. The college has Venture Lab which helps startups by the college students. Under this, students can take up internships.

The decision of joining Thapar was worth it when talking in terms of social groups. There exists a student society for almost everything, ranging from technology and programming to music, and everything in between. You name it and there's a group for that. The state of the art Library offers all the books needed during the course and can be easily issued from the Library. It has self check-out machines, which save a lot of time. The lecture halls and all classrooms have projectors. Sports complex is nicely maintained.

There are various types like single, double, triple or four seater rooms. There exists a table, bed, cupboard in the room. Hostels and the campus has 24*7 wifi connectivity. Quality of food in mess is also good. The hostel student committee makes changes time to time to ensure good experience for all. The hostel registration is done through hostel allotment office.

The admission is both through JEE mains score (50% seats) and class 12th board percentage(50%). Additionally under both these types, further 50% Punjab state quota is there. For 12th board criteria, JEE mains score card is still necessary. Application form is available on the official website of the college. The cutoffs were high for both JEE mains and board percentage for Computer science even in the last rounds of counseling. The college has various reservations during the process.
