Likes

i like to study in their nava nalanda library which is very spacious
i like to enjoy sports , they provide sports equipments on id cards
thapar's environment is very good , lot of greenery is present

Dislikes

hostel food sometimes is not good in taste
i have to walk about 1 km for lecture halls which makes me feel tired
i hate 75 attendance criteria , this is very bad thing

Course Curriculum Overview

i choose computer branch because the scope of tech branch is very good in future . job will increase in this field. faculty members are average . 60:40 is the student ratio. 2 times in a semester exams are conducted which are termed as MST and EST

Fees and Financial Aid

fees structure is availabe on thapar website . fees are high which is almost 250000 rupees for computer science branch and increases by few amount every year. scholarship is given on the basis of your jee mains percentile in 1st year

Campus Life

various fests are held every year . one of hte biggest fest is saturnalia in which a singer is come . this is an amazing event . an event by mudra is also held . mudra is a society . many socities are there for every field

Admission

You have to clear jee mains to enter in TIET . you can also get admission through boards exams if you have good marks in board exams . admission process starts by filling admission form which is available on the website of thapar . fees of the form is 1500 rupees

Chandigarh University - My experience from fees to social life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is good and cover every aspects of learning and skills needed in today's time but it feels the semester get over to fast in around 3.5 months with 3 exams and lab exam. They should provide the real learning based on a student interest some student are good in coding but they lack to communicate better, they should focus on that part also as they also do in many cases by giving subjects like soft skills and communication skills every sem.The teacher should not be reading the ppt only . We can do that also why we are paying that much fees just to learn from a teacher who is just reading the slides.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i would rate the course curriculum as largely relevant and fairly comprehensive,. one of the main reasons i chose this course was the balance between conceptual foundations and practical exposure. the curricuum supports future academic growth since many of the modules introduce us to advance topics early, making it easier to explore research. some topics feel slightly outdated and could be aligned better with the current industry skills and technologies. the exam schedule is manageable, though sometimes multiple assessments happen in the same week or same day, ehich adds pressure . Spacing out evaluations a bit more and giving clearer rubrics could improve the overall experience

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. I had a really nice percentile of 98.9 in jee mains but what happend is i intentionally wanted to score 69 in boards i didnt know about the 75 percent jee mains criteria i got 69.7 i like to call it 69.69 but i messed up so i applied in vit as well and srm and thapar i got in all of them after giving there respective tests on the same fees but i chose thapar was better after some consultation with my relatives who are in this field and know people in this field i got admission in the end on basis on jee only in thapar and the experience is well...Read More

Bits Pilani was the other college that I applied for but in there entrance exam I didn't score enough to get a branch of my liking. I chose Thapar because of its infrastructure, placements, faculty and it's strong alumini network . I applied for VIT and SRM but didn't take admission due to poor quality of placements and peer group. I am from the General Outside Punjab quota.
