Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

BCom Honours was chosen by me because it is one of the most challenging and comprehensive course which offers good initial placements depending upon the college. Students gain multidisciplinary knowledge of various fields and are made ready for properly inculcating corporate culture. The faculty of Hindu College is specialized in their respective fields and teach children in creative and technical ways such as presentation and Case Studies. The term exams were held in December-January for Semester I, III and V studentsand have moderate difficulty. Theoretical subjects need comprehensive answers and often students face difficulty in completing the exams.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship society Abhyas keeps in constant touch with corporate Companies, offering internships in various fields and stipend ranging from eight thousand to twenty thousand, depending upon the roles and responsibilities

Placement Experience

4

Hindu College offers satisfactory placements from Companies in fields of Consulting, Marketing, Public Relations and Finance. Students need to build up their CV in order to get the best offers. The highest and average packages through placements are 36 LPA and 10.5 LPA

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is ?26,000 which is minimal as compared to many other state and private universities. Although the hostel charges are ?90,000 p.a which need to be taken care of by the students. Students may avail financial aid if they're from Economically Weaker Section (EWS)

Campus Life

3

The annual Fest of Hindu College is called Mecca which is organised by the students through the help of sponsors and conducted in March-April. For the record, classrooms offer extremely basic amenities which are even less than what are offered in schools. Fresher Students of our course had to request the authorities to get the Air Conditioners fixed and proper implementation of Smartboard systems. Hindu College provides extraordinary opportunities in Sports and extra- curricular activities. There are 40 clubs which are run by students and regular competitions are held all round the year. During selection of societies, students should correctly estimate their capacity to handle both academics and co-curriculars. Due to New Education Policy, students feel pressurised and have to give sacrifices in attendance to take part in societies.

Admission

My course in Hindu College is BCom Honours. It offers various specializations in corporate subjects including but not limited to Corporate Law, Management and Accountancy. To get admitted, aspirants are required to give the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. Students can give examination in minimum 4 subjects and maximum 10 subjects. The eligibility of BCom Honours is as follows:- 1) One Subject from List A- Language subject as studied in school 2) Three subjects from List B- Domains such as Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy and Mathematics (chosen by me) 3) For calculation of percentile, four best subjects will be taken into consideration. 4) Students need good scores in either Accountancy or Mathematics (Standard or Applied) For more information regarding Application form, fees and dates, Students may visit NTA website or Delhi University official site.

Other Applied Colleges

Christ University | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}

My current college offers much more diversity than the mentioned college. It offers extraordinary exposure in terms of inter- college events and competitions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
