I took IIT JEE score 196 it is among the top 15 best colleges of india it is in a prime location and would thus be able to provide me good exposure their was no interview or separate entrance test for securing admission into my university,their are four rounds of counselling and a subsequent spot round,wherein students are shortlisted on the basis of their ranks and marks scored in JEE MAIN their a quota for students belonging from punjab.

In the first year all students have the same courde schema with important subjects like engineering graphics,mathematics physics covered along with humanities courses like communication skills,environmental studies etc which lead to wholesome skill development,students are also engaged in workshops and labs to make them adept with equipment in subjects like manufacturing prosessses. Second year is characterised by specialisation with subjects like networking, data structures,digital electronics, computer system architecture,software analysiselectives are offered in the two semesters of third year with advanced dbms,android,lamp,robotics,advanced data structures and cloud computing as options.

For the summer of second year we had to find our own firms to train in but for the summer of third year and the training semester companies like microsoft,rbs,arm and loreal came offering stipends from 8000 to 20000 per month.

Companies like hike,microsoft,google,walmart,zomato,zws associoates,g shaw,rbs,deloitte etc came offered packages varying from 6 to 18 lacs per annum70% students have already been placed and companies are yet to come.

We have an annual sports meeta techno cultural fest which happens once every year microsoft student chapter literary fest once every semester chakravyuh coding sur, mudra,aghaaz and other cultural events.

The fee structure is expensive with fee varyong from 1 lac per semester for day scholars to 1.85 lacs for the ac accomodation boarders this includes the hostel,mess and tution fee.

A scholarship is given to the top 20 rankers of college they don't have to pay the tuition fee the top two scorers of very stream get a similar scholarship,loans and scholarships are offered to students whose parents earn below 1 lac per annum students with the best summer projects are also given scholarship.

The college has around 20 different societies to cater to everyone's interests the gender ratios in most societies is 60:40 boys:girls but for some it is 70:30,hostel party is organised every semester,the societies are not biased on accounts of any social stigma and students are provided a lot of opportunities to perfoem,there are societies with work for awareness and activism,others that organise quizzes and deabtes also our university is a local body of aiesec,which is an international society foer exchange so students are sent out for experiences and internships.

Hostels have shared single and ac,non ac accomodations,boys and girlds have separate accomodations and there is enough to acco0modate all so PG option may not be considered the mess provide 3 square meals and tea in the evenings.

The college has has a strong alumni base with its pass outs succeeding in a variety of fields whenever i have engaged in a conversation with any alumni they have spoken of thapar's huge role in their success and have had a very fulfilling experience.

We have a must and a set of est's and then lab evaluation for a subject happens twice every semester we have project submissions and presentatoins two quizzes for every subject every semester.

The faculty is highly qualifies with most teachers having a long tenure in teaching and enriched teaching experience we have instructors and assisstants in lab with M.Tech degree and the teachers have a doctorate.
