Remarks

The college is expensive and increasing seats and decreasing quality of students which will decrease its fame in near future.

Entrance Preview

I gave iitjee mains and scored 109 marks in it and selected it as it is one of the best college of north india.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Its good with focus on overall development of the students and everyone can access the curriculum on the thapar website as per the branch one is interested in. According to my branch its ECE the curriculum is same for 1st year with core subjects coming from second year onwards.

Internships Opportunities

Yes,definitely it is one of the reasons why I have choosen this college and with a good overall package.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are one of the best in India with all major companies coming to recruit and ample of job opportunities with an average package of 6 lakh overall and very healthy competition. In ECE this year there are 100 already placed out of 140 with nearly 70 in it companies anr 30 in core companies with major companies going to come.

College Events

4.5

The college is a hub of social, athletic and cultural programs with the functions happening nearly everyday with more than 30 societies related to different disciplinary and many technical and management events occurring periodically. The major fest is saturnalia with all events coming in November every year. Other major fests are frosh events, urja and elementos with college funding each one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is economical before but is now getting expensive each semester when i came it was 1,38,000 for 1 semester, then 1,41,000 and now 1, 55,100 and is increasing exponentially. For an outside resident it costs nearly 2,00000 per sem with hostel and mess expenses leaving daily expenses so thapar is quite expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes you can avail education loan easily And yes there are ample of scholarships available with 3 divisions which you can easily see in college website.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is luxurious. The gender ratio is 10:1. The diversity is wide with majority(50%)of punjab students and other students from nearly every states. The extracurricular activities are many as I mentioned earlier. The students parties are organised periodically and its statis is good with 20th Nirf ranking and its bond with trinity college and other universities.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facilities depends on the hostel you reside in. By the way its quite good for my hostel but the problem is with not frequent room cleaning. You have to get before the sweeper to clean your room. Yes In first year you will get 4 room accommodation and it will be really hectic to adjust with 3 people. The mess food is good before but as time passes the quality is reduced. This is the story of every mess.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very supportive and helpful and you will see this in nearly your first meet as you enter the college. The alumni network is very strong and it is because of its nearly 60 years of establishment and thousands of graduated students successfully placed.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is simple there are 2 major sub parts of exam. 1st MST(Mid semester test) and 2nd EST (End semester test) and sessional nearly every day very frequent. In lab the exams are at last. The college is generally from 8-5. The exam evaluation is relative and not specific.

Admission

Its form is available online I filled it and paid its fee i. e. 1500 that time then I was given an id through which I can get to know about further updates and got information regarding physical counseling through going through website of thapar and got admitted by going to the college and reserving my seat

Faculty

3.5

I will say that facilty is average with some very good teachers to just average teachers. Many of them are from IIt but they are good students but not good teachers but are good enough to put you forward in your respective fields rest depends on you.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is good and it is improving since then. TPO looks after this process and it is responsible to call comapnies to the college and discuss about the eligibility of the students who can appear for the placements. For internships, students in the 3rd year appear for it while for placements 4th year students can appear. The average package is approx. 8-9 LPA while the highest has gone to 64 LPA during my college duration. Almost all students get placement.

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??
