It has a cheap store in which we can buy anything needed in the academics for very cheap price.
The fees of the University is very low. It probably has the best ROI.

Dislikes

It has nothing to provide in the name of college life.
People openly smoke in the campus which is not good in my opinion.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of its reputation. JU CSE has its own brand value. It has an immense heritage and alumni network. The student-faculty ratio is around 20:1. The professors here are highly educated and have passed from reputed universities like IITs, ISC Bangalore, etc.

Internships Opportunities

At Jadavpur University people get immense opportunities for internships. Companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, and deShaw visit the campus and pick students. Also, the professors help the students to get internships too.

Placement Experience

From the start of 3rd year, students start getting internships and by the end of 3rd year, they get placed somewhere or the other. JU provides immense opportunities for placement and almost everyone gets placed and many get high-paying offers too.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are the bare minimum. It's around 20000 for 4 years. Probably the lowest in the country. The hostel fee is 25 Rs. per month which too is very low. Even then it does provide concession for those who have family income of less than 2.5 lakhs. For them everything is free.

Campus Life

Jadavpur University Fest takes place in the month of January and its name is Sanskriti. It is a very big fest of around 10 days. The classrooms are fine not like the ones in IITs though. It has many clubs in which students can take part.

Admission

I gave wbjee got 205 rank and then had to sit for counseling. 90% quota for West Bengal students. The examination fee is 600Rs and the counseling fee is 5000Rs. The counseling site is not as good as the josaa but it does the work.

IIT KGP is amazing!!

Placement Experience:

Students are prepared for placements right from the third semester. Indusrrial training is provided to us and engineering industries like L&T, Bhel, IRS and HAL among others which are in full swing are among the colleges that hires IIT KGP students with an average package of no less than 15-18 lakhs yearly.

IIT Kharagpur : A very well executed institution which helps the students grow and excel in life

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Exams are scheduledd but may prove to need extra assistane for comprehension of some of the contents.

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

The course curriculum is not that different from other colleges. At the beginning or 1 st semester we are made to complete the bridge course which basically includes stuff we read in classes 11 and 12. But then also they can't teach properly the already read topics.

Jadavpur University is one of the most renowned universities in India. I've applied in JNU but couldn't make it there as I didn't have enough preperation. Jadavpur University a dream come true for a lower middle class student

After getting my WBJEE rank my first college allotted was Heritage Institute of Technology. After that I got Kalyani Government Engineering College and University of Calcutta respectively. But Jadavpur University was an obvious choice for me when I got admission into it during its decentralized counselling. In heritage I got Computer Science and Engineering where as in Kalyani I got electrical engineering and in University of Calcutta I got information technology. But all of this colleges placement is not compable with Jadavpur University Civil Engineering at all. Jadavpur University in terms of fees and placement is way ahead then any other colleges that comes under WBJEE. A Brief Review of Jadavpur University , Kolkata

I tried to get admission to other colleges like IITs, NITs, BITS etc. I secured a rank of about 14k in JEE Advanced and 7k in JEE Mains but was not getting a suitable college+branch combination in the IITs and NITs. I secured a rank of 855 in WBJEE and easily got admission in the electrical department at JU. JU ranks 12 in engineering , 9 in universities and 17 in overall category as of NIRF 2024. It is also very good for placements and research opportunities .Also , fee structure is quite less and it is near my house , so was very suitable for me . The admission process was also a smooth one . We has to report at JU with necessary documents and we got a provisonal admission form . After successful fee payment , i got admitted in the electrical department of JU. Most students prefer the CSE or IT department due the high packages. The cutoff of CSE is 150 , IT is 400 , EE 1100 rank as of 2023 in JU based on WBJEE exam . So , it is quite competitive to get admission here....Read More
