Club culture in the college is very promoted.

Course Curriculum Overview

1. In this college the branch mechanical is known for its participation around the country for research and SAE participation around the country. 2. Faculty-to-student ratio is very well maintained and groups are formed for lab classes and theory classes. 3. All the professors and assistant professors are having MTech and there Ph.D. is following up. 4. Exams are set in the university and taken in two parts minor and major and are set to the given material.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 70000 per year

Placement Experience

1. Placement starts from the 7th semester those who do not have any active backlogs are eligible for the placement process. 2. For mechanical there are various companies like SML, Godrej, Mahindra & Mahindra, etc. come for around 4.5 Lakhs per year package. 3. Highest package offered by ISGEC of 10 Lakhs. 4. Around 60% of the students are placed in my branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

1. Fees are around 35000 Rupees for the undergraduate program. 2. One can avail of the scholarship benefits if they have secured a rank under 5 in the lateral entry test and also if they are having any Below poverty line income certificate.

Campus Life

1. There are a lot of fests organized by the students which include Techfest, foodfest, music fest, etc. 2. There is a central library attached to the study center which serves all the people having different book interests. 3. Classrooms have all the basic amenities for the study like a smartboard etc. 4. Sport is very much appreciated around the campus having separate grounds for each sport.

Hostel Facilities

1. Hostel rooms are given 1 table, 1 chair, 1 almirah, and 1 bed to each student. 2. Meal is decided by the menu and the quality of the food is not that good they should improve their food. 3. One can register for the hostel during the payment of their semester fees which is available for 3500 per semester.

Hostel Fee: INR 7000 per year

Admission

1. I took admitted in B.E in a branch of mechanical engineering and the Eligibility for taking admission is a diploma of 3 years without backlog. 2. Application form is filled out through the official site of the college Sliet and the fee for the form is 1800 Rupees. 3. Reservation is applicable for those who have a valid certificate.

Honest Review - Thapar University

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements from the 6th Sem. More than 300 companies visit the placement drive. Highest 43LPA And Average 9LPA. I guess the Percentage of students getting placements is around 80% but the Computing branches have 100% placements. I have no plans right now.

Remarks:

Well LPU is one of the best private in the city of this country which is providing all the facilities and it is over 600 campus the placements are very good of this University, providing world class facilities like library, campus café, education, faculties. Approx. 660+ companies visiting to lpu every year like Bosch, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, cognizant and mass recruitment companies are also coming here every year

Good college with good faculty

Remarks:

The best thing I found in this college is that it has a friendly environment. Ragging here is strictly prohibited and everyone in the college adhere to it. Coming to some negatives is that the infrastructure of the college is not well developed. As it has been in Chandigarh since 1953 only a few buildings are well developed rest all the buildings are as old as the college.

Remarks:

College is very much concerned about attendance criteria that is the students having attendance less than 75% get detained that is they are not allowed to give semester exams. They will be marked absent in the exam and have to give it in the next semester.

Good faculty and quality of education but less placements

Remarks:

Good college is great in terms of study and material being offered to us the facilities provides to us of ro and 24/7 electricity and water wifi campus Good interaction ability building in student. Bad core companies placements is less hostel rooms for 2nd 3rd year not up to the mark of construction.

I only looked for government colleges as they are affordable and well-reputed. I applied for several colleges and got selected for IIFPT Thanjavur and GGU Bilaspur but I wanted to study mechanical engineering and out of all options, this college was best known for its mechanical engineering course and lab facilities. Sliet Journals : Must for bigginers

I choose this college honestly as it was a centeral government college under josaa and has significantly less fees which would help me save for my master's . Internship apportunities in SLIET, Longowal

I applied in sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology in first seven round but I got electronic engineering which I didn't want, so I waited for special round and then I got Computer science. I am in general so I didn't get any quota for admission but obc and sc st have quota in the college. To get into sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology, you have to give entrance exam and the cut off of the college generally goes around 130-140 for general category.
