Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Course curriculum is old which is followed from ages I would complaint on that as most colleges do so. Institute from there hand try to give hands on experience on cad/cam software and industrial software to educate students. Removing the old unwanted subjects and topic and replace it with codings or other useful software class will boost the placement scene

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships mostly people try to get off campus but college also bring some companies to give internship to student as for mechanical companies take students for industrial training companies visiting for this includes sonalika, maruti suzuki etc

Placement Experience

2

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??

Fees and Financial Aid

The total college fees will be around 5 lakhs for 4 year which include 33,000 per semester and 4500 hostel per semester mess fees is like 2900 per month which adds upto 1.2 lakh per year. While admission a total of 69,000 is taken which includes 1 st sem hostel, tution and other caution deposits, for a rough idea 20-25 k is for caution deposits and other costs. This is same for every category There are many scholarship for reserved class(OBC,sc,st) and for general with family income less than 2.5 lakhs like 1. Siemens scholarship 2. Reliance foundation scholarship and many more

Campus Life

4

The college is beautiful and big in short you would love to travel here. There are almost every sports which include cricket , basketball, football, vollyball, lawn tennis and even squash courts, The library is also big and contains all the needed books. There are many active clubs in our college that includes maverics and endeavour technical club, sivesa mass media club, happy club and many more. Our college have madhuram cultural fest and techfest which are decent I would say but it's not very good.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostels according to fees is good I must say. It's a 4 seater room with one study table or slab I must say a chair and a wardrobe l. It's old style hostel but spacious. It has all Indian bathrooms so western gang you have to suffer ????. Mess is just like any other mess survival somedays it's good somedays you cannot touch the food. Hostel guards and caretakers are friendly and kind and it's a hostel free process for hostel accomodation

Admission

I choose this college honestly as it was a centeral government college under josaa and has significantly less fees which would help me save for my master's . I had other options like manipal, thapar and even bmsce but I skipped those due to fees as paying 20 lakhs roughly for mechanical was not a very wise decision as per me.

Faculty

4

Professors are very good and interactive from my experience Mechanical dept has some of the best facilities in the campus where majority have done there Post graduation or PhD from iits and are very good at there job. Here we have 2 minor exams(30) and one major(50) rest is internal and quiz which sums up to 100. Exams are decent depending upon the professors setting the paper. This institute decides to into section to mentain a ration of 1:30 kind .

Other Applied Colleges

Manipal Academy of Higher Education - [MAHE] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)

Fees was a bit on high side for 4 years

Manipal Academy of Higher Education - [MAHE] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
