Likes

Hostel life at boys hostel 10. Its very good and we can also play games with seniors who is in masters or phd.
Lab facility is awesome. In workshop of our department we have very good machines in working conditions.
Campus is very big. You will fell very connected to nature.

Dislikes

Campus is outside of city. About 25 kms from sangrur.
Hostel have timings that you have not to go out of hostel after 9:30.
Some faculty are not teaches good and they check examination copy by matching the answer of numerical.

Course Curriculum Overview

I have a diploma in mechanical engineering and I am passionate about it. The faculty is highly qualified. Most of them are from IITs. They also have work experience in industries. There are 2 minors, 2 quizzes, 2 assignments, and 1 major exam in each semester. Everything is redecided according to the academic calendar.

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities will vary every time. Some years it's good like you will get 10000 per month and sometimes you will not get anything. Internship by college is limited. Various projects are going on in various clubs. I got an internship at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram.

Placement Experience

Campus placement is very good for students who study. They will easily get placed. If you are not a good studying student you will get a placement of 3 to 4 lakhs/year. More than 50% of students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is less as compared to other educational institutions. In the first semester of BE, you have to pay 65000, and after that 35000 per semester which varies per year. If you are in the top 3 of the entrance exam you will get a Tuition Fee waiver. You can also apply for a scholarship for your home state.

Campus Life

Technical annual fest called Techfest. The social annual fest is called Madhuram. The library is good but you have to find books by yourself there, books are available here but you have to find them.

Hostel Facilities

If you are below 3rd year of BE you will get 3 seater room. The room is quite good. You will get your separate table chair and an almirah. The bathroom is common for all. Geyser is available. Single-seater rooms are available for the top 20% of students in hostel no 10. I got a room in BH10. Here the food is good but in another hostel, this is not the case and depends upon the students in the mess committee.

Hostel Fee: INR 7000 per year

Admission

For lateral entry, you have to fill form for the LEET examination. You have to choose the section where Group A is for electrical, electronics, and computer science, group B is for food and chemical and Group C is for mechanical. When you qualify for the examination you will get a seat in your perspective department.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess

events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

Dislikes

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

As I scored a decent percentile in the jee mains exam.So, I've some chances to get in the lower nits and lower branch but like Nit Rourkela, Manipur etc.But I wants to pursue my career in the computer science so I've to choose that one college where I got CS branch. It is a CFTI having some decent placements score and one of the main point is the fee of the college is some low from the other colleges. Not at all I got the other colleges but not the CS branch that's why I didn't choose that colleges over this.
