Course Curriculum Overview

4

As I already decided that I choose to do my engineering education in the computer science branch. Here the curriculum of the college of the college is so good as of the other top colleges and it's includes DSAs and all that stuffs. it's completely oriented towards the practical knowledge and industrial development. They also tries to slightly bend there curriculum towards the practical knowledge. As I already tell they are tries there best to move the course towards the practical knowledge. And the teaching methods is good but they should makes students tries to solve the real life problems. In one semester there are three exams are held two minors and one major. The minors are of easy to moderate level but the major is in the moderate to hard level.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are companies like Wipro,TCS and others. For the decent internships you have to apply off campus to do so.And one student from our college is selected in the Google for the internship. Most of the students take internships in the PSUs like ISRO,DRDO etc. they worked as an research intern there.

Placement Experience

4

From semester six or seven or say from the third year the students are eligible to apply in the placements drive. There are so many companies visited here like Wipro,TCS and Mahindra etc. And they made some decent packages to the students if the student is intelligent then definitely it secured some good placements. The average package of the college is about 5 lpa and the highest package is about 19 lpa which is from off campus. Most of the students are getting opt for the higher education and done M tech from the good colleges. And getting jobs in the PSUs also. After getting the degree I opt to choose the job in my particular interest and then after few years Im gonna do my higher studies abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I already mentioned my total tution fee is about 281000 and the first year fee is about 83000.All the other fees like admission fee,lab fee and alumni fee are included in it.They also provide scholarship from college and also from the private organisation like Siemens.

Campus Life

4

Here the annual fest is named as Madhuram and it helds in the month of the October and they organise so many dances and singing competition. The technical fest named as techFest in which they organise robo wars etc. type of technical programs. The most of the classroom having smart board and it looks awesome. And it is fully furnished with Acs. Here almost all sports are available to play includues swimming competition also. Extracurricular activities includes Open mic challenge, inter hostel circket tournaments etc. They are so many clubs here like impresso, literary, Mavericks, SSDC and Endeavour these are the technical clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4

The conditions of the room is not so good it should have to maintaince time to time. The water and electricity is 24/7. The mess food is not so good because the contracters are from the private ones. The quality of the food is good good only.It charges some around 100 rupees per day.It includes breakfast, lunch and dinner and supper in the alternative days. At the admission time u have to fill the form for the hostel living. You can also choose as a day scholar. As there is no any pg or room around the college so almost all the students are the hostellers and few of them are locals which are the day scholars.

Admission

As I scored a decent percentile in the jee mains exam. So, I've some chances to get in the lower nits and lower branch but like Nit Rourkela, Manipur etc.But I wants to pursue my career in the computer science so I've to choose that one college where I got CS branch. It is a CFTI having some decent placements score and one of the main point is the fee of the college is some low from the other colleges. Not at all I got the other colleges but not the CS branch that's why I didn't choose that colleges over this. They take students on the basis of the Jee Mains exam which is an renowned engineering exam. The cutoff for the getting admission is decent you to secure some decent rank to get in the college. The admission process is so smooth without any kind of barriers.

Faculty

3

Here the faculties are very kind and supportive. They helps the students continuously in excel or boosts their skills. The ratio of the same as of other good colleges like Nits etc. For me the CS faculties are the best because they are always ready to solve my any kind of problem. Here the Engineering Drawing faculty are not so good because they are too strict towards the students. There are total of three exams per semester two minors and one major and the level of the question are vary from the easy to hard level. The course structure is pretty good.

Night Life

4

Yes there is a gym here and a shopping complex and there almost all the students basic requirements are available there. And there is one central library and a reading room also which is open 24/7. Hostel timings for the boys are 10 pm at the nights and for the girls it is 6 or 7 pm. Inside the college there are some hangout places like there are 2 or 3 lakes here which is quite good to sit and there is a SAC and a temple here which is good to spend some time with your friends. But outside the college there is no any places to hangout because it is situated far from the main city and it is very bad. It is safe at some extent but the local road is passed inside the college so it is not too safe for us especially for the girls.

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.
