Remarks

No bad remarks about the college management. They are doing good in our college.

Entrance Preview

i wrote Kerala entrance for engineering and medicine. My rank was around 15000. i have a percentage of 93 for higher secondary education. I wanted to take a course on computer science and engineering, because i was more passionate about coding and all. Then i opted some colleges and the allotment process took me to lbsitw, poojapura.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our standard engineering program takes 4-years to complete. The first year curriculum had physics, chemistry, maths, and all basic engineering subjects like mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electronics, mechanics, graphics, computer programming.and also we had 3 labs-electrical, electronics lab and mechanical workshop. The 2nd ,3rd and 4th year was divided into two semesters.for each semester there will be 6 theory course and 2 labs.On second year there were more courses related to computer science like data structures and algorithm, computer organisation, object oriented programming etc.On semester 1 of 3rd year we had an industrial visit.we visited infosys chandigarh. On the later semester we did a mini project on movie ticket booking.the front used was java and back end used was oracle database. Now i am on 4th year semester 1.for this semester we have 2 electives .Also we everyone have to present a seminar on any of the latest technology.at the end of this semester we have to submit our main project design for next semester. And i am doing a project to classify newspaper articles on websites using machine learning. Actually the course curriculum focuses more on theories than practicals. I think for an engineer it is essential to have both practical and theory knowledge equally.

Internships Opportunities

No,our college wont provide any kind of internships.but they support us to take internships in other organisations.also they provide scholarships for financially backward students with high grades.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements are great.Around 20 companies visit our college. And our college had the record of highest placements last year in Kerala. this year companies like infosys, envestnet, ibm, hsbc, tata elexi etc had already visited.i have been placed in ibm.so i could obviously say that the placement in lbsitw is really great.

Fees and Financial Aid

yes, there is scholarship for students from financially backward and with high academic score. But i think it is only for around 10 students.

Campus Life

3.5

our college is a women college. around 1500 students are studying there for btech and mtech. there is no student parties.there will be around 20-25 workshops conducted in our college by various student organisations like ieee, nss, csi etcand we have a grand inter college fest named "YAGNA DHRUVA".it is called the queen of all the fest in kerala because it is conducted and organised by only women.and it shows the women power.the fest consist of both technical and arts competitions. And we have a sports day.we all will be taken to university stadium for that. Our students always take part in competitions and workshops held at our college and in other colleges .

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is good. Our college hostel could accommodate more than half of the students in our college. And the college fee is very cheap and fixed. The food provided in the hostel is also good.there is a provision to chose the menu for one week by the students itself.according to that the food will be provided.and the mess is also not a bad one.

Alumni/Alumna

yes we have a very good alumni network.our seniors always connect with as through whats app,Facebook and linked in. also there alumni meets in our college.they all are helpful. they all help as in our projects, placements and all.

Exam Structure

for every semester we would have 2 series exam and 1 university exam for every subjects. And yes the Exams and labs very frequent leave us with a hectic day.The series exams will be like, two exams per day.and it is very difficult for us to handle.but for our university exams we would have enough leave. And it would enable us to perform better for our university exams.

Admission

i got the admission through typical allotment process. In Kerala we have to write Kerala entrance or all India entrance for getting into an engineering college.i wrote Kerala entrance.and then we have to opt the colleges we want to join through the website of Kerala entrance.there will be a trial allotment, first allotment, second allotment and a third allotment.on trial allotment i got another college for doing my b tech degree in computer science and engineering.then later on first allotment i got lbsitw, poojapura.if we have a allotted college by entrance commissioner, then the admission process is direct.there was no interview or any other exams.we have to pay the fees via online.then there was a orientation class for both students and parents about our college. The college functions under the self-financing scheme and selection of the students are based on their ranks in the entrance test conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Govt. of Kerala. Since the college is a self financing college which comes under the control of the government, the procedure adopted for admission during each year varies according to the decision taken by the government in this regard from time to time.

Faculty

3.5

For our department we have around 30 faculties. Our head of the department is Prof. Manoj Kumar G.He has a 16 years of experience in teaching. He had published 4 journals in ieee.we have 6 associate professors.all faculties are good in teaching.they are selected to my college via an entrance exam conducted by our college.they all maintain friendly relationship with students, they all have a key role in making us a successful engineers.for every month there would be a faculty assessment survey in our college via online.

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably
