Internship opportunities at Thapar University, Patiala

The course curriculum consists of a blend of the old technical concepts along with a few updated technical aspects. The faculty in my course was a mix of good along with some not-so-good mentors when it comes to concept clarity in the class. Although all mentors were well qualified and had great command in their respective fields.

The college offers good internship opportunities to students. Various good companies like Oracle, Gameskraft, Bain and Company, Advantage Club, TATA 1 Mg, Byjus, Incedo, etc have offered internship opportunities to the students with a good stipend.

The campus offers good placement opportunities for students enrolled in BE program. Companies visiting the campus hire for Tech, non-tech, and core roles as well. However, tech opportunities are more relative to other domains. The highest offer made was around 40 lahks pa with an avg of 10 lakh pa. 70-80 percent of the batch gets hired easily during the campus placements.

During my session in the college, the fee for pursuing BE was around 4 lakh annually which includes the academic fee, the hostel, and the mess fee(2019-2023). But recently the management has introduced a hike in the fee structure. There is a system of financial support and scholarship in the college which is department-wise and rank-based.

Campus life at Thapar is indeed full of opportunities across all domains. Saturnalia is the annual fest that happens around the month of Nov-Dec. Apart from that there are various sports being offered on campus as well.

The hostel provides students with all basic amenities such as a gymnasium, a Sodexo mess, and Rooms with attached washrooms and ACs as well. The hostel fee is approx 60000 per semester which includes the room fees as well as the mess fee.

The institute requires the applicant to clear the JEE Main exam along with surpassing cut-off scores for different branches, which vary every year. Recently, the university has allowed admissions on the basis of CBSE XII board scores as well.
