Remarks

Admission to this one of the most prestigious universities is through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination(WBJEE). This exam is conducted in April mostly. The application starts in June approximately. Reservation rules as per Government notifications. SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B reservations quota can be availed.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Faculty members are highly qualified and are engaged in state-of-art research works besides delivering quality lecture content in the classroom. Each classroom has an average faculty-student ratio of 1:40. Faculties use blended methods (boardwalk and PowerPoint presentation) for imparting better quality education. Semester and laboratory examinations are 6 months apart and a maximum of 2 class tests are held in a semester. No sincere student attending classes regularly or following up finds the examinations difficult to pass. Understanding the concepts thoroughly and practicing previous years' papers suffice the purpose.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Companies visiting for placement drive also allow students from 3rd year for internship. Which roles are SDE intern or GET intern? Students also engage in research internships with professors of this university as well as IITs and universities abroad

Placement Experience

5

Students are allowed for placement from starting of the final year and internships from starting of 3rd year. Students have been placed in Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Meta in the IT domain with the highest package of 1.83 crores. Core sector companies also visit the campus CESC, TATA Metaliks, Reliance, and Vedanta to name a few offering an average package of 12 LPA. Consultancy firms PwC India recruit from the campus regularly. 100 percent placement was made in the 2021-2022 placement season and its sequel is achieving greater heights. I'm planning to higher studies abroad after getting the degree. Many students have done internships at foreign universities and also have undergone Student Exchange Programs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for 4 years of engineering course is 10k only, for 4 years I repeat. (Except for the information technology branch which is yet to get a government scholarship). As of now, there is and will be no hike to fees.

Campus Life

5

Life at Jadavpur University is a versatile one. Cultural fest(Sanskriti), and Tech fest(Srijan) see footfall as high as 300k in recent years. Dept. of Electrical Engineering conducts its tech-fest Convolution that is by all means of as much scale as of Srijan. These are conducted in March-April. Departmental and Central libraries are free for university students and suffice whatever need you may have. Classrooms are air-conditioned with facilities of both green board and projector screen. FETSU presents U-Turn as an annual sports event. Besides playgrounds, badminton courts, and gyms on campus nurture the physical aspect of students. Science club, Photography club, Entrepreneurship Cell, and Dance forum are the student organizations to name a few.

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.
