Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curricuum is well designed by expert professors in the college so it is best for the students and no doubt about that it enriches the concepts of the students. But nowadays all engineers are fascinated by the IT sector jobs but teh course curriculum does not carry proper real life problems it focuses on the as usual theoritical aspect and not on the real life interviewer mindset i think the course must include this things too.The exams seems too frequent after midsem exams there is hardly one month remains to complete and revise huge syllabus to sit for the end sem exams

Internships Opportunities

4

Different people are from different branches and the internship depends on the branch it includes the students to visit in the industries in their summer vacation or winter vacation to observe that real life applications of their study and knowlege and they get to know how to what do industrial works using their engineering skillsets some internships are paid some are unpaid it depends of the job requirements the projects given to the students and the company too. After the successful completion of the internships every student is given a certification which they can include in their CV or Resume to get an extra edge over others in the job interviews

Placement Experience

4

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the first semester is generally a bit higer than the other seven semester as there are some extra fees included in the fees of the first semester like Admission fee (3500),Alumni activity fee (1000),convocation fee (1000) and Institution caution money (10000) (refundable) which gives a sum total of approximately 21,000 rupees aditional to the semester fees which you have to pay once during the course during the first semester. You will have to pay rupees 90,600 from 2nd to 8th semester and have to pay it along with the additional 21,000 in the first semester which i have mentioned above. Now the fees (90,600 per semester) consists of various fees like Library fees of 1200,Laboratory fee of 2000,Examination fees of 1200,Institution development fee of 2000,Training and placement fee of 1500,Computing and internet fees of (3000),Electricity and Water fees of 1700,Student activity fund fees of 2500,Health insurance charge of 1500,Hostel seat rent of 10000,Hostel establishment charge of 1500 and Hostel caution money of 5000(refundable) etc. which are included in this amount (90600) .Tution fees of 62,500 is included in the semester fees. For SC , ST and PWD candidates the Tution fees are completely waived those candidates have to pay only the rest money exluding the tution money from the semester fees (28,100) and for the students having family income lesser than 1lakh per annum the tution fees are also waived for them and the students whose family income is between 1 to 5 lakh per annum their two third tution money is waived. The rest of the students have to pay the enitre 90,600 rupees. The semester fees of rupees 90,600 is excluded of MESS charges which varies from semester to semester depending upon various tenders (in our first semester it was 19,000 and in second semester it was 17,000).Note that in NIT(s) and IIT(s) residing in hostel is compulsary and the above given detailed fees structure is based on semesters and there is two semester per year.

Campus Life

5

There are two great festival that happens in our college firstly the annual cultural fest RECSTACY generally takes place in the february ending and the annual Tech fest AAROHAN this two fests generally holds for 3-4 days in the college campus and different artists and different club performances takes place in this fests except these various fests are organised by different clubs in the college. There a huge collection of books in the central libarry of the college starting from department's study materials to different exam preparation books and different question papers too and there is availability of E-BOOKs too. every classroom is equipped with three black boards (one central large and two peripheral) one projector and the entire classroom is equipped with surround speaker sound system poviding the mic to the professor making him more audible to the huge amount of students.most of the classrooms and labs are air conditioned and well furnished. There is a lot of oppurtunities for sports in the campus there are two huge grounds in the college ecxcept this there is a student activity center with badminton courts, stadium, basketball court football and cricket and kho kho also played in the grounds too, ther is a gym too in the students activity center but it is very much poor in quality. Annual sports competition and inter-NIT sports competition and indoor games takes place too. Yoga or tawkundoo is a course in the first year BTech syllabus too. There are 22 clubs in the college starting from tech clubs to music club connecting the dramatics club dance club environment clubs too there is a student body called students GYMKHANA too to take care of serious student issues. every clubs have some professors as their faculty advisors too

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are decent every rooms are tripple occupancy rooms providing one table chair and one bed made of iron and one almirah per person in the room every room has two fans two tube lights and three night lamps and some rooms have wifi routers too rooms are white painted and have glass windows. The food quality is good during the first semester but on successive semester the meal quality gets worsen day by day in many days there is a dispute between the students and the mess managers menu is diverse keeping three meals a day and keeping both the option of veg and non veg and option of rice and roti on both lunch and dibnner the non veg menu includes egg, chicken, fish too and dhoka, gobi manchurian , soya bean , paneer , curry pakora too in the menu and mutton once in a month and special dinner once in a week and biriyani once in a week but the food quality is decent to bad. registration generally happens before the semester beginning including all form fill ups and mess advance payment. every year both the boys and girls hostels are changed means the students are allowed to stay in a hostel building for a year every hostel have common rooms and mess too different hostels are situated at different places in the campus.

Admission

I applied for GURU GHASIDAS UNIVERSITY, BILASPUR (a GFTI in chattishgarh) and i got an secured seat in the CSE department too of that college too in my 2nd round of JOSAA councelling but in the CSAB round 1 i got a seat in NIT Durgapur in the Biotechnology department. I was a NEET aspirant but due to scam of NEET 2024 i was unable to get a good rank and secure a good government medical college and i was passionate about biology from my childhood so i chose Biotechnology and obviously an NIT is far more better than any GFTI be it in terms of placement, infrastructure, environment or any other things. I applied for some higher prioritized brances too in my choice filling but due to poor rank i wasn't able to secure a seat there. Students get seats in NIT(s), IIIT(s) and in GFTI (s) through JOSAA (a counselling process of 5 rounds) and CSAB (a counselling process of 2 rounds) and in IIT (s) through JOSAA counselling only. Students secure their desired seats based on their merits with the rank that they obtained in their JEE Mains exams and JEE ADVANCED (for IIT ) although admission is based on ranks but the authority have criterias like you have to score 75% marks in maths ,physics and chemistry in your Boards exams or you should be among top 20 percentile students of your class 12th board exams there is a separate process of admission too for the foreign students and NRI students althogh the fees structure is very high for their courses. The overall counselling process was good and seamless but after allotment of the college, the document verification and fees submission process is a little hectic.

Faculty

4

In the first year all of the BTech undergraduates from all branch including students of msc bsc too have to study the same syllabus on their first year. The whole 950 students are divided into 8 sections each sections containing 120 students approximately who are taught by one faculty per subject during the theory classes and in laboratories during practical classes the students have to perform the experiments in groups of 7,8 or 4 prople depending on the availability of the equipments of the experimental setups, from second year onwards the departments are separated. In CSE and Mechanical department the student capacity is the largest having 180 students per batch and in other batches the student capacity is around 75-80 and in the integrated msc bsc of chemistry they have only 8 students. The faculties are very bad at teaching most of the faculties are even not interested in teaching. Some of the faculties are very good at teching including Dr.Satya bagchi,Dr.md Firoz Ali,Dr.subhomoy changder,Dr.J kartikeya etc. The exams are tough because we have to cover a huge syllabus in a very small span of time, per semester there is a 100 marks evaluation per theoritical subject which is divided into two exams one is mid-sem exam of 25 marks per theory subjects and lab exams and their viva and end semester exams of 60 marks covering the entire curriculum in the syllabus at the end of the semester. Except these two exams there are assignments and class assesments (a type of class tests) of marks 15 which are added in the end semester full marks. The competitions are high among the students to score good marks, obtaining marks is a bit harder as compared to the other private colleges and many students have to sit for supplymentary exams who are unable to secure pass marks in their exams and whoever is unable to clear their backlog too, they are given an active backlog exam of that subject.the course is well designed but sometimes it is felt that some of the subjects are irrelevant.

Night Life

5

There is a GYM in the campus and it is open to girls and boys both but with a separate timing and it is not allowed for 1st year BTech undergraduates but this is not maintained properly.the GYM is very poor in quality many students prefer to go to other GYM s outside the campus. there is a central library in the campus included Four huge and furnished air conditioned room in the campus there are 4-5 cafes and food stalls inside the campus and many cafes outside the campus. First semester students are not allowed to go outside their hostel except college clases and they are escorted by security guards from hostel to college and back to hostel from classes and from second years they are allower to roam in the campus and go outside maintaining their records in the record book the in time and out times in the hostels respectively - 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Duck pond, STUDENTS ACTIVITY CENTRE and the quiet campus roads are famous roaming places except this JUNCTION MALL is a famous place

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
