Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to go for a field having Biology in it. Thus biology and tech made a good option for me. MY course incuded much more than Biotech. It had French, Pscycology, environmnet sci, Marketing and also a lot of sports imnvolved. There were 2 semesters per year. The teaching methods are quite good along with modern tech. Labs were well equiped and also propoer dress code was maobted during pracyical lessons.
Internships Opportunities
Intensips started from 2nd year onwards with the 3rd sem making it compulsary for an intership. the 4th and last year inclued placemnets. Imterships had to be from own end. One can opt to intern out of the university and also with the professors working on project in the college itself. Plcements was good and inlucded compaies like AMAZON, BYJUS, ZUCOL, BHARAT BIOTECH, BIOCUM.
Fees and Financial Aid
It was a 4 yera course and alomg iwth 6.5 lakh beig the course fee. I opted for hstel which was 1 alkh per year and a secuirty deposit was tanek as well of 10,000. The fees was semester based and was separate for 8 semesters. The scholarship for students based on mars was included which started from 12th marks having more than 80%. One can get 100% scholarship if scored more than 95% in 12.
Campus Life
1. Amiphoria- A blast of annual sports meet for Amity Kolkata. It is a 3 day event where art, culture and sports are taken into consideration. There is music, food and lots more. 2. Frehers do play a good part this a sthey have themed based. There are events celebrations as well. 3. There are smart board given inside class and alos labs. 4. Sports meet and annual sports are also held here. Inter colge and inter departments are taken into consideration.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel had separtae sats for men and women. THere were 13 floors and had 2 wardens each for both hostels. They had cafeterias open till 10pm. The food was good and also snacks were the limelight. Th ebooking of the hostel was given 1st preference to poeple outside the place and then the ones from the same place but living far. A 10k Depost was given. Permission had to be taken for day out and night out. Students needed to have their parents in touch with the warden for permission. No eletric apliance for cooking was allowed.
Admission
I applied for Heritage, Adamas. I still choose to go for this cause of the exposure it would give to peruse my dreams outside Indian as well. The faculties are themselves trained in and out India. Heritage had a high cut off but Adamas was also an option. But Amity stood out for me considetig uts infrasctructre, the curriculum and also its location. I did speak with 2 of my seniors suggesting me to get into this and it being a good option. Admission process includes fiilling out form in the webiste and then one of the college members will get in touch considering the further process.
Faculty
My course was BtechBiotechnology and was of 4years. It has 8 semesters in total with a break spaning from a week to 15days. There are different subjects apart from core subject to open placements path in different industry. Fo r mjy clas it was 1:40 (teacher:students). My favourite was Surajit Sir, Santanu Sir, Rajeeb Sir, Priyanka mam. They weere PHD holders in their fields.
Night Life
While i was a student there, there were 2 cafeterias along with a Cafe coffe day amking it 3 hang out spots. Food inlcuded a pure veg and another eggetarian mess. On ecan also order food. Hotel was the best part. Clealiness maintained and loved by all. Security for all was ery good. Others places included amiphoria, the basket ball court andthe wide garden. An indoor sports complex also has been opened now.
