Journey Of HIMT College

The admission process was easy. We have to pay Rs.1000 online by the link given by the college. Later confirmation mail will come and we have to accept it and soon the interview dates will be announced with other many cadets the interviews are taken one by one and after completion of the interview, they will in inform if you are selected or not. Later If selected then the college will send the confirmation mail and then later we have to pay some of the course fees but later before the joining date, we have to pay the whole fees of the course. Everything was online and easy to do.

I chose this course as it's my passion to be a mariner and after completion of Mechanical Engineer, we can opt only GME course to become a Marine engineer. The faculties are very nice and supportive. Be good with the faculties, they will help you a lot in understanding the concept. All the faculties are ship experienced, many are chief engineers, Captains and 2nd engineers. Term exams were taken, one at the mid of the year and then later at the end of the year as st sem and 2nd sem.

The shipping companies come for the placements like BSM, CSM, VR shipping, MOL, MSC, Seaspan, Oceansparkles, and Scorpions. There were cadets who go selected for different shipping companies. The principal helps a lot to bring the companies to the college and get the cadets placed.

The fee structure was 3,65,000/- for the GME course. The scholarship was provided as per the grades and academic performance, This is very helpful for the cadets who are from poor backgrounds families. IMEI Scholarship was provided. BSM company is coming for the interviews.

Life at HIMT college is awesome. The principal is very supportive and lets everyone participate in the different fests conducted. I personally won the 2nd prize for singing which was held at IMU Chennai. Classrooms are now provided with Airconditioners. Cricket, Football, Table tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, and Swimming sports are played.

The hostel facility is good. 4 members stay in one room. Food is like Chennai food. food is given to different batches at a particular time. The registration process facility is easy. The administration office really helped with all the processes during the hostel admission.
