Remarks
The admission process was very simple. There was no entrance exam. It was purely on a merit basis i.e. on 12th marks. The cut-off mark for the course was 92 per cent. The application form was available on the website of the University of Delhi. Its cost was Rs 100. The application forms were out in the month of May. I have applied from the general category. One improvement I would like to see is allowing students to submit documents online.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am pursuing Bcom(Hons.) because I want to gain more knowledge in commerce. There was about 1 teacher per 50 students. The teachers were very talented, well qualified and were very cooperative. The classes are held in English mode. There were lab periods to impart practical knowledge to students. Then before the semester exams, there were internal exams, which were held 1 month after the semester exams. The odd semester exams were held in December and even semester exams were held in May.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the course were about Rs 56000 i.e. Rs 18,700 per year. The fees for the course are less but accommodation cost is very expensive in New Delhi. The college provides various financial schemes to needy students. It provides Rs 10000 per year to financially weak students. The college also provides fee concessions to needy students. The placement cell was very good. A lot of students got jobs in Big 4 firms.
Campus Life
The campus life was very good and memorable. There was a fest every year. It is called Zucitva. It is conducted in the month of February. The library was very big and it was fully AC. There were different types of books in the library. The classrooms were also fully AC. The infrastructure was very nice. There were cricket tournaments and badminton tournaments conducted every year. The college collaborates with various clubs and organisations like Consumer Voice.
