Remarks

I had cleared JEE mains exam and after results declaration, the JOSAA provides a rank list in which I had to fill a list of 25 choices of the colleges mentioning the branch. I am from the general category without any special category, so had to fill my choices accordingly, taking ideas from previous year counseling results. The counseling started and it had a total of 7 seven rounds. I got IIIT Pune in the last round of counseling. In the previous rounds, I was unable to get my preferred choice. In the first 6 rounds, if you get a college of your choice you can register yourself in the nearby government colleges. But as it was the last round, so I had to directly report to the IIIT Pune campus. IIIT Pune's parent college is COEP Pune and the counseling process was carried out in COEP only. There only, I visited and finalized my college to be IIIT PUNE.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Computer Science and Engineering in IIIT Pune. There were mainly two reasons. Firstly I have always admired coding and problem solving and wanted to explore more in this field. Secondly, everyone knows the current demand in the industry is of IT people only. Almost for every semester we have six subjects, having a different faculty for each subject. My batch size is approximately 150 students. Almost each of the faculty members had done PhD in their respective fields from renowned institutes. Most of the faculty members are young so have great energy while taking lectures. Each subject of each semester was divided into three sections for conducting the exams. The Term1 paper carried 20 percent of the total evaluation. Similarly, Term2 also carried 20 percent. The Endsem papers were the final exams that had a weightage of 60 percent of the final marks. After 1 month of sem start, Term1 papers were held. After 1 month of this, Term2 papers and after 2 months of T2, final exams.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Many companies have visited the campus for internships opportunities. Our college has two types of internships. One is the summer internship that is usually two to three months long and is conducted between end of third year and start of fourth year. The other internship is of six months and can be done either in the seventh semester or in the eighth semester. This internship carry credits which will be used to evaluate final result of college grade. For the summer internship, students in the start of fifth semester only can start applying. Also you can do a major project instead of six-month internship program if you wish to do so. Also the main focus of the placement cell is on job opportunities rather than internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement season starts when you reach the 7th semester. We have a specific placement cell for the students that is working very hard as our college is a new one, est. in 2016. Till now 50+ companies have visited the campus with job opportunities offering a package as high to 40 lpa. This year many students were able to grab this offer. Our average package is 12 lpa which is way better as compared to the new institutes like ours. Almost 100% students were placed for the previous batch. There is also 6 months internship program in the 7th sem, in which maximum companies provide the PPO s to interns performing good. Taking about the internships, students of fifth semester are eligible for them. Many companies have taken student for summer internships with max stipend of approximately INR 50000. Main focus of placement cell is on job placements rather than internships of third year students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college fees for each year is approximately INR 210000. This includes all the tuition fees, academic fees, sports, WiFi, gymkhana, and other such things. The hostel fees is excluded. It is approximately INR 25000 for each year. There are many scholarships available for college fees. These are for economically weaker section or for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. I don't come under any of these scholarship category.

Campus Life

4.5

Our college is currently in a temporary campus in KJ College Pune. It will be shifting to its own permanent campus soon. Besides of not having a permanent campus, we have access to every facility in the college like college clubs, fests, coding compitetions, library, sports week. Talking about the fests, we have three fests. First is the freshers, which is between the students of first and second-year batches only. The second is the tech fest in which each year can participate. In this, we organize different types of competitions, ranging from art skills to debugging the code competitions. The third is the annual fest which also included the DJ night with many such competitions as in tech fest. The college has clubs for almost every society. We have Abhinay, the acting club Eclectic, the literature club Qriocity, the quiz club Ecell, the entrepreneurship cell Eklavya, the sports club Bit legion, the coding club VD, the dance club Rang, the art club

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel services are quite good. We have different hostels for girls and boys. In the boy's hostel, each room has a capacity of three students with different almirah, sockets, bed, bench, and chairs for each student. Each room has its own bathroom. Each floor has two geysers and two washing machines. Their usage timings are easily managed by the students. Also in the hostel, there is a badminton courtyard for us to play. Outside the hostel, there is a big ground to play cricket or football. The sports competition are held in this ground only. There is one guard and one warden for each hostel. Also, there is a faculty supervisor of both the hostels whom you can contact if you wish to opt for the hostel services. The mess food is average, not bad as compared to other colleges mess. The mess service is exclusive of the hostel and is optional. You can contact the warden or mess incharge to opt for the mess services.

Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
