PCCOE Pune : Academics, Campus and opportunities

Computer engineering had better records of placements in college hence I chose it. Curriculum covers the core topics important for pursuing this course. Areas that need improvement are - too much emphasis on irrelevant subjects. Frequency and timing of exams is the best part , no mid semester , only end semester.

Internships ( in campus) start from 6th semester where companies like deloitte float there forms. Stipend based internships are common. Roles include relative to the branch and skills. projects are important for getting hired

From seventh semester ,students are eligible for placements. Companies like tcs, infosys, cappgemini, accenture are common for hiring. Almost 60 percent strudents get placed. My plans after degree is placement plus MS/MTech if a good gate score.

I paid INR 150000 during admission, and continue paying almost same every year. This is for general category , it does differ for other categories. My batchmates in obc/ews have 94000 approx as annual fees . SC/ST have fees of 24000. The fees for AY is proposed to increase. Financial aids are availiable in form of scholarships.

Annual events like Navratri garba night and Swartarang in january are sight of attraction. Library has a wide range of books related with engineering. Classrooma are like School , white boards , projector, benches. Sports and other activities are personal choice to participate. Not too many student groups or clubs in College

Hostel facilities are nothing less than a hotel except for mess which is bit average. We have gym , ac rooms , vending machine , four lifts. It is affordable to most but not quite to lower middle class or so. Registeration process is simple just after admission, and between years its based on cgpa. Menu of mess is good , quality of some food items good, some average.

I also applied to VIT vellore and VIT Bhopal, but VIT vellore was out of budget and Bhopal was very new with not too good reputation. I chose PCCOE over them as being a maharastrian I anyways wanted to live in pune or mumbai for college. No i did not get rejected from those I applied. Admission process of my college has - first add college name in mht cet cap round form, if eligible for cut off , you will get selected and then come visit college and verify and submit documents.

Faculty to student ratio is fair in PCCOE. The relationships are good but some faculties are not serious like young ones. Faculties i liked are - computer engineering seniors because of their intense knowledge sharing ability. I did not dislike any faculty but some were average. Exams are easy but time issues are there. Students generally pass easily in exams. Course curriculum has both updated and outdated topics.

Nightlife at PCCOE is really amazing. The climate is great. Gym availiable at boys hostel top floor, canteen and mess running till 9:30. Campus in timings are 10 pm at night and 5 am in morning. Famous hangout places include Ganesh talav. Yes it is very safe to roam in night.
