Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is pretty relevant to job market and students dive into CSE subject as soon as they enter college. You start to learn DSA by 2nd sem which is one of the most asked subjects in placement drives. If the college adds parts for dev in course it will be better. Classes are 5 days a week and there a 3-4 classes per day with labs sprinkled here and there during week. Considering everything pretty manageable timetable.

Internships Opportunities

4

All the companies that come for hiring also provide internship on campus. Notably Nomura, as that's is the company I know about they provide 75000 stipend for interns in ITD role. There is interview and coding rounds for intern position.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of iiit pune lies on a lil expensive side, the tution fees is around 2.19 lakhs with other fees making it to 2.7 lakhs per year. 70000 is the hostel fees per year and 20000 is message fees per semester. If you are Maharashtra domicile and have obc ncl or any other caste based reservation you can opt for scholarship on mahadbt portal. For obc all of tution fees is given back by gov.

Campus Life

2

Iconclave is the annual fest of college and is pretty big with other clubs also doing events all around the year. Books that teachers recommend are easily available in library. The classrooms have ac and projectors. For sports there aren't many facilities there is running track all around the campus if you like running and badminton courts but other facilities are being made. Yes there are student run social groups like aarambh which is a cultural group. And many clubs are there.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostels are 4 sharing room with some rooms having balcony and some not having balcony. The rooms have Ethernet ports. Meal quality is okayish and is better than most mess but still you will get bored if you eat for a lot of days. Registration process is pretty easy for hostel and it also is pretty affordable at 70k per year.

Admission

I also applied to cse at IIIT jabalpur and allahbad, and chemical engineering at nit Warangal but I couldn't get a seat there. I was also getting ece in iiit jabalpur and cse in spit mumbai but I decided to take iiit pune cse over it. To apply for iiit pune you need to appear for JEE mains and get above 98% if you are general or obc candidate. The admission process isn't hectic but preparation for exam is.

Faculty

3

Faculty to student ratio is good as the college is still in its early phase and there aren't a lot of students. Some faculties might act problematic but most are nice and don't hold any grudges against you. One of the best maths faculties in the whole state probably is dr jatin majithia and he teaches to 1st year students here. Other than that bhupendra singh who is hod of cse dept is also a good teacher. Most faculties are very new as profs and hence not very good teachers for example dheeraj dubey. There are 2 exams mid sem and end sem with quizzes in between and presentations depending on the faculty . The curriculum is pretty relevant and students dive in to cs related subjects from 1st sem only.

Night Life

1

The night life in the new campus Is pretty dead as the college is very far from main city. Gym is getting built in the new college. Hostel intime for boys is around 11 pm and same for campus. Hangout spots in college are behind main academic building.

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources
