Course Curriculum Overview

3

In terms of relevance and comprehensivness, iI would rate the IIoT course as fairly good ,mainly bcz it offers a balance mix of software and hardware. This was one of the major reasons I chose IIoT ,as it opens oportunities in multiple fields as networking , Automation , embedded systems, and data handling.IIoT is also an emerging domain with strong industry demand , and the multidisciplinary nature of gthe curriculum makes it more interesting and career oriented compared to a single stream course . regarding how well the curriculum prepares us for real world applications , i cannot really comment yet bcz I am still in my first yr , I do not have clarity abt how the next 3 yrs will be taught or how the practical approach will be delivered . As for areas of improvement , I strongly feel that the teaching methods need enhancement as they do give some practical exposure but not to the level that we want or isa necessary. About the exams and timing of exams ,the exams are conducted regularly and on time , but their difficulyu level is often higher than the level of preparation we recieve . If the exams are difficult ,the teaching and preparation should also match that difficulty level , which currently not happening.

Placement Experience

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Fees and Financial Aid

for OBC category I paid tuition fees - 0 rs as I did admission through cap but Development fees=19435 rs Uni Miscellananeous fee=650rs Caution deposit=10000rs Total = 30085 rs again they took registration charges = 1000 /- uniform charges is 5600/- overall you should keep 40000 /- aside even after taking admisson though common entrance test for scholarship and the exam fees of 4500/- will still be taken separately per yr...

Campus Life

4

Campus life is discent ,in the month of addmission clg conducts official freshers and afyter that seniors also conduct departmental or coommon unofficial freshers..then there's "inshight" event in college where sports cultural and may more activities are held ,onum , navratri (garba) are also celebrated in the clg and the hotellers also hav etehte separate additional events .. the library allows 4 books at a time for10 days after that they charge 1/- per day..and i have no idea abt the journals .. classrooms have digital boards in the name of facilities :) Saturdays include co-curriculars and sports (student can choose one co-curricular of 1 sem and can change in next sem) Students-run social groups exist but do not impact campus life much..

Admission

I applied to Priyadarshani ,Ycce and Pallotti .I alloted in priydarshani in 1st cap round ,but I chose not to take it bcz my cousin told me that pallotti is a better option in comparison .So I selected Pallotti over priydarshani . I could not get YCCE bcz of my cut-off was lower for that clg. After that I also got an uexpected opportunity to take admission in Fergusson clg Pune fo BSC in mathematics and statistics , I dropped that option bcz I felt BSc math and stats caurse would be difficult for me and that is why i took admission here . I didnot face any rejection from the clges I applied to . The one I didn't join were my personal choices , not bcz something wrong . The admissions in my clg happens through cap rounds and also throgh management ( costs upto 200000 per year). They accept CEt and JEe scores ..the cut-off is not very high for minority even scoring 15 to 30 % in cet is suffiicient to get cse branch here (which very easily a kid can score) but for other categories like OBC ,SC , Open etc must have score approx 80% to get into this clg varies above according to branches .. My overall admission experience was not that good bcz I didn't expect to pay around 36 to 40 K even after getting scholarship benefits through the cap rounds but that is how the process turned out ..

Faculty

3

faculties are good and approchable if we do self study ..faculty to student ratio is also good , There is a teacher named Sayali Kanhav ma'am who teaches Physics in the first year . Her teaching style is really ,really good __it gets into mind in just one go . Then there's also the HOD of the second year IIOT department, Sir Shri Raghavan. He is a great teacher as well, very straightforward ,and I really like his way of teaching. I can't say that I dislike any faculty, but yes there are some who teach concepts I do not get in the mind ... There are 2 sems in each year and for that you have to work really hard cause no one there will provide you that question bank from which only, the questions do appear in the exam as other colleges do give that question bank and the level of the question paper is even not easy...

Night Life

4

Thetre's no gym . the cafeteria is decent or good .. The library feels old ,not very appealing. Public areas are limited since the clg is in jungle .but the multifacility centre(MFC) is good to roam . Campus hours are roughly 9-5 pm. There are no famous hangouts inside or nearby , but it is safe for hostel students to roam inside the clg only cz there's jungle outside..

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

> From the 4th semester itself, students can go on a off-campus intership with the permission of the college department; the college takes care of the students' attendance. > While mostly students start looking for an internship from the 6th sem onwards. >About 80-85% students were placed from the final year, and the rest many chose to pursue higher studies in foreign countries. > The highest package went up to 12-13 LPA, while the lowest was 3 LPA, on the other hand the average package was 6-7 LPA. > The top recruit companies are Accenture, TCS, Cognizant, and Wipro.

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. CIA like case studies, presentations, and assignments encourage hands on learning. However, in some programs, there is a still heavier focus on the theory, so students must actively seek extra learning resources

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.
