Remarks

Environment and faculty of the college is very good. Moreover fees are very less.It's a fully government engineering college and being a newly formed college ,it's placements are far better than other new colleges

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum and academics are same as other big institutes like IITs NITs. Faculty is awesome. Each class has 64 students. Teaching methods are innovative. Exams are taken after every 6 months and it's moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

I'm not familiar about on campus internships. But faculty surely helps you to get off campus internships with quite good amount of stipend. They also help us to build our soft skills along with projects in order to easily crack internships and jobs.

Placement Experience

Placements are good.on campus placements are available but lower branches students are not so familiar with on campus. So students opt for mtech and they crack it easily because the teachers faculty are awesome. The upper branches students gets easily placed and can also apply for gate and other of campus jobs or PSUs.prev year one student was selected in Google as sde with 1.3 crore package ( off campus) which proves that coding culture is good.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Total fees of the college is approx 55000.Many scholarships schemes are available. TFW scheme is also available. Placements are good. Moreover return on investment is good. being a government college ,the fees structure is quite negotiable and every students of West Bengal can afford this. Scholarships are easily available and are very helpful for studious but economically backward students. TFW scheme can be used by economically backward students and college tuition fees are easily minimised by this scheme. Even students get 100% scholarship. Moreover the financial assistance is good.

Campus Life

Campus us big and awesome. Annual and tech fest happens and many big superstars come.College has a big library and bug grounds and has many clubs and social groups. So other than academics , students will enjoy a beautiful life in the campus.

Admission

After giving WBJEE , candidates are selected on the basis of their GMR but if anyone applies for decentralised or extra counseling process , he or she may have to face interview or GD rounds. Moreover it's basically focussed on GMR rank in WBJEE.

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

A GOOD COLLEGE WITH GOOD PLACEMENT , SPORTS FACILITY.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied in in the Government engineering colleges only and I cut conferred admission in this college. I choose this college over the others because I got the confirm admission in it. A brief overview of RKMGEC

The main reason students come to this college is because of the fact that fees are affordable and also this is purely government college. Admission process is quite easy you need all the necessary documents (Aadhar, Pan, etc) along with your WBJEE scorecard and rankcard. Other important fact to mention is that only students who are permanent resident of West Bengal can seek for admission. You need a domicile certificate for that....Read More

I applied for many other colleges like Jadavpur university, IEM but wasn't able to make ther with my rank and financial instability. I opted for RKMGEC because it offered a compeling mix of quality education,easy faculty and lowe tuition fees. The eligibility was based on west bengal joint entrance examination (WBJEE) scores with specific cutoffs which vary every year. I face rejection from a couple of other top tier colleges primarily due to high competition and slightly lower intense exams scores.
