as i have applied for many, colleges including nsit, Chandigarh uni., and Thapar university but all of them i like Thapar's culture a lot, and hence i took admission in it (#thapar's best culture). No i have not availed any quota during thr admission. the criteria for my civil course was jee marks (80 cutoffs). the admission process was great as one the Thapar's student team FROSH was undertaking it very greatly and with full discipline.
Course Curriculum Overview
bcoz at that time the demand for this course was very intensive and i was also having a little bit of interest in the civil stream. the faculty-student ratio was about 1:20. all the teachers were mostly PhD and they were more experienced and having good teaching skills. the exams were mostly after the two months duration and two exams per semester were there. it was not very easy and also not very tough to pass.
Internships Opportunities
many companies like Deloitte, jp morgan and many other techs and nontech companies offer the internship and their stipend ranges from 20k to 70k depends upon the company and location. projects are really great and there is really a a lot of practical to learn from the projects.
Placement Experience
from 7th semester. companies listed are Deloitte, jp morgan, shaporji palonji, collegedunia. highest was ranging about 32l and lowest 4l. more than 50% of the students get placed easily. to do the job after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
at our time there was a hike of about 5% and it was a bit costly as per the private university and the cost of the study was all about 16 to 18 lpa. there were many scholarships as per the cgpa criteria mostly for the top 10-15 students.
Campus Life
there were really great, there are a lot many fest, functions at Thapar which really attracts each student interest alot and many competitions take place which brought about the real talent from the individuals
Hostel Facilities
the rooms were really great, comfy, and comfortable. the mess food was also very great and it was really fun. the rules and regulations very not too tough and the rules were also very chill. the rooms very affordable at the university the rent was was about 40k per semester.
