Entrance Preview

Goenka college of commerce and business administration was my dream college as a commerce college. I had scored a 90% in my class 12 boards and was waiting for the list of GCCBA to come out.

Internships Opportunities

College does not provide internship, although it does arrange for great placement opportunities.internship must be provided.

Placement Experience

The placement opportunities are the best- reputed companies like- wipro, tcs, e&y, delloite, mcg etc came for offering placements this year and many of the students landed up with great jobs. The college does expect bigger players to pitch in soon.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is a very feasible college in terms of fee structure for the middle class. My annual fee and other college related expenses did not exceed rs.2500 in a whole year, it is completely government aided college and therefore the best education is imparted at such low costs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Financially challenged girl students are provided scholarships via shika kanojia foundation. Although some scholarship for financially challenged male students would also be appreciated.

Campus Life

Campus life was a roller coaster. I made the best of friends there and they are the closest to me now. The ambiance is all in a very positive one. Sports was organised, music,dance, debating all formed a part of the college life.it was a perfect medley of fun ,academics,real life situations .

Admission

Firstly after my class 12 board results i applied through an online process and basically waited for the selection cum merit list to be published online. It was a very easy process since everything had to be don online.gone are the days when people would spend hours in line to apply at colleges.

Faculty

College faculty consists of the best professors out there, wizards in their own right. Though some professors are not prolific enough, and a handful of others not fluent in english, which sometimes makes business language a tad difficult to understand.

Placement Experience:

Idk but i guess students become eligible from 2nd or 3rd sem. Idk what is the company visited but the placements are very good i heard that, avg package varies 2.4 lpa I guess. Right now i am doing internship so as of now i don't have plans.

Various companies come to this college for on campus placement Average package= 1000000 Highest package=2200000 Various multi national company and other big and small companies visit this college for on campus placement. Most of the students also get placement opportunities whether large or small package The opportunity is given to all degree whether it be bcom or bcom hons . Any student who does not get placed can easily use the degree to get a high paying off campus placements and to go to any good college or stay in this college for their post graduation.

The course curriculum is backdated and should be improvised as it doesn't give any exposure of present industry knowledge. The frequency of exams is that exams are held after 6 months on semester basis and are easy to pass and majority of the students pass this semester easily.

Quite an Average Government College which lacks in infrastructure, faculty, and placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I mentioned, the course curriculum is outdated and no new industry knowledge is being taught. Projects and assignments are also bookish and are just for sake. Teaching methods by teachers are also bookish and backward. The frequency of exams are after every 6 months and are pretty manageable and easy.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
