Remarks

I got admission to IEM, Kolkata by opting for Counselling via WBJEE rank. There were 3 rounds of counselling. I had a rank of 3.5k and I got my seat in 2nd round of counselling. On admission day, I went to the college in Aashram Campus and provided the provisional seat allotment letter and my rank certificate. Also, they asked for a xerox of class 12th and 10th mark sheets. It was a smooth process overall without having to face any hassle or harassment.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because, from an early age, I always inclined PCB's, microcontrollers, VLSI etc. The study environment in the college was superb. The faculty: student ratio was 1:30, which was really good as this provided us with the students to interact more with the faculty and clear our doubts at regular intervals. The faculty was very qualified. Most of the faculty were alumni of IIT's and NIT. Some of the professors also possessed a PhD from distinct universities. The teaching method was very methodical. And, there were 2 mid sems before every semester exam, and these mid-sem exams generally prepared us for the semester exams.

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunities are quite limited in the college. There are internship opportunities in domains like VLSI, Industrial Engineering, Robotics etc. Several companies prefer taking students undergoing workshops and such internships from within the college.

Placement Experience

The placements are really good in the college. The placement percentage in the college is around 80-90%. From the 6th semester onwards, the students become eligible for placements. The companies that visit the college are mainly IT companies. Most of the students actually get placed in mass-recruiting IT companies. The companies that usually visit the campus are TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, IBM, Adobe, DXCorr, Tech Mahindra etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is quite reasonable when it comes to the cost to study in private colleges. During my college days, the average semester fees were 40,000 INR. This would stay the same throughout the tenure of the whole course, i.e 8 semesters. The fee hike policy is around 10%-15% every year for an incoming new batch. The scholarship was provided to meritorious students from the poor family background. Such students could waive off around 50% of their fees by applying under TFW(Tuition Fee Waiver).

Campus Life

Life at the campus was good. There was a strict discipline that students had to abide by. There's an annual tech fest called Innovation, in which several students participate every year and win exciting cash prizes and goodies. The college library had books for all semesters. So, I personally didn't buy any books whatsoever during the whole course. The amenities in the classroom were mediocre. The campus was a bit congested as it had only three buildings which could accommodate a very limited number of sports only like volleyball, badminton. There was a scope of several indoor games like carrom, table-tennis, Karate etc. There were tech clubs, literary clubs, and other co-curricular clubs.

Should I Choose IEM.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

So I take admission through WBJEE in IEM KOLKATA in B.tech in electrical engineering. So now I talked about eligibility criteria:- You should pass your +2 from any board with a maximum of 60% Admission in this college is 3 types WBJEE, JEE MAIN, IEMJEE all three forms you will get notified by college dunia if you have an account in it. So the IEM KOLKATA is one of the best private colleges in Kolkata and you can say in India also so the cuttoff goes very high you have to get minimum rank for this college. Review of My IEM University

When I was searching for the best college to get the admission, some people told me to try for Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and after I got admitted to this college, I really understood that I selected the right college. I will always prefer this college because discipline is strictly obeyed in IEM and all the teachers are like parents. In 2019, admission was going on offline and it was held around the month of July. This year, due to covid pandemic, the admission process was held around the month of October and from 2nd November, online education started for the first year batch. According to me, the one and only bad aspect is that every semester, Rs. 65,000 is to be paid by each and every student to continue with their education which is quite high according to me.
