Remarks

I chose St. Stephen's College because it's one the best colleges of not only Delhi university but it is one of the best colleges in India. The admission was merit-based so being 98% holder I had no problem in getting into this esteemed college. I preferred this college over the others due to the following reasons: 1. Best college of Delhi university in the North campus. 2. The infrastructure of the college is very very good and fascinating. 3. The teachers here are so helpful and encouraging. 4. The economics faculty of the college is the best. 5. The college fests and functions are one of the best on the North campus. Although it is one of the best colleges, still it has some bad aspects like: 1. The attendance requirement is very high. 2. The teachers are a bit strict. 3. The workload is very heavy.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Economics Hons. because I have a deep interest in Economics. I want to work for the country and be the Finance minister. I'm working very hard to achieve my goal. Taking up Economics Hons. at this stage will surely help me understand our economy in a better way and will help me achieve my ultimate target. The faculty is great and most of the teachers are a holder of Ph.D. degree. Talking about the exams, the exams were online and we didn't have any difficulty in giving the exams because we were so well trained by the faculty beforehand. Also, the online exams weren't very hectic.

Placement Experience

4

The placement percentage of our college is about 20-30%. The highest salary package offered ranges from 13 lakhs per annum to 14 lakhs per annum. The lowest salary package offered is 3.5 lakhs per annum. The average package offered ranges from 5 lakhs per annum to 6 lakhs per annum. Some of the top recruiting companies are McKenzie and company, TCS, BCC, Teach for India, Times of India, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of my college is not very high because it's a government college and the whole of the fundings is received by the government. The fee for 1 semester is around 18,000 and the fee for the whole year is around 35,000. The fees for the whole course are around 1,00,000. There is some reduction in the fees for the weaker section of the society. The reserved category of students enjoys some of the benefits.

Campus Life

4

Harmony is the annual cultural fest organized by St. Stephen's College. Although I haven't been to college yet. But I know this for a fact that it's a 3-day college festival. It hosts a variety of events such as treasure hunts, music shows, concerts, and dance performances. The different societies and clubs help us to build our personality and give us many opportunities to work and help us to know about our interest areas.

Placement Experience:

placement and internship fares are regularly conducted on campus where various companies which are mostly start-ups visit to recruit students for internships and entry level roles. Students become eligible for internships from the first year itself. placement opportunities are generally available after the completion of the full degree and only final year. Students are eligible to apply for full-time rules. last during our last internship and placement fair over 20 companies visited and recruited almost 150 candidates. There are no separate records distinguishing internship from placement. The highest package reported for economics honours is around 12 lakhs per annum and the average package is approximately five lakhs per annum. As per my future plans,I intend to pursue a masters degree after completing my undergraduate course.

For USME, FMCG and Financial companies are the ones which are put in place. The only reason is that those are the companies where we can add value and placements of both courses of USME happens together and combined if I say around 75% students are placed. My plan though is to join GIPE after my graduation ends this year.

DTU because East campus is more known for USME placements revolve around us. Now core companies of our sectors are the ones that deals with finance, insurance or stocks. So nearly 20-30 companies of that space or sector hires over 100 students of BAE every year.

Many companies come as ever since USME has been installed at the east campus the tie-ups with the brands happened before that. So we were etaught accordingly the war corporate wanted us and that is how this has been done with solid precision and thus our placements have never jolted.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .
