Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course I had chosen is Bsc Chemistry Honors..since it is an Honors degree we are getting focused on different cores of chemistry Like physical chemistry organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry and have a deep knowledge in every core...Mainly as a chemistry student we all are studying through experiments and observations and I feel pretty good as college provides great facilities for doing experiments and research. The exams are pretty easy going and stress free as we get enough time for preparation.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

As a First Year student I haven't done any internships but by participating in vox populi of social Service league of st stephen's college I came to know about the internship opportunities and all Companies like Tech Mahindra, WWF , CRY ,J - Pal , Feeding India , pravah , Minerva impact and so on. We should approach personally by filling our Google forms to know about their roles and projects.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placemens of my college are showing their brilliance at the peak of highest package of 25 lakhs per annum . St Stephen's college has its association with Cambridge University UK . The main companies are McKinsey & company, Bain & company banking companies Morgan Stanley JP Morgan American Express and so on... Students are eligible after their 2nd semester for Placements if they are talented.

Fees and Financial Aid

About the tuition fee it's actually just 90 rs but the amount they are asking is mainly for the college advancements and compulsory fees include chapel gym student welfare fund and cafe bill too for a non hosetlite student and it vary for each student the min amount is like 18k For hostel student it includes mess and hostel with other fee It's a sem fee structure

Campus Life

4.5

Societies are the main highlight of this college . It provides the best societies to be a part of . To understand ones potential and to work For it the connections we get through the bonds we create the positions we are gonna gave and lead.... All the classrooms are provided with 2 Ac to survive in summer and also projectors and also in sports we have the best football basketball Frisbee and also the best cricket team . A student who is part of any societies is definitely improving his or her life skills for future

Admission

Cuet is the main entrance test for getting into DU colleges and St Stephen's college provides a Christian Minority Reservation through which u can get into this college. Just apply for Minority quota from college site and also give cuet test and you will be called up for a interview by the principal and also respective course faculties and you should give a confident interview through which u can be a member of this college. Once all students were interviewed before getting into college and that was how they filtered good personality students. Now as cuet is the base to enter...interviews are not taken for them and just based on merit. St Stephen's was the only college that takes interview and making each and every students of their college the best

Faculty

4.5

The faculty members are so loving and approachable. The care and attention they give to their students should be appreciated . I never had experienced any misleading attitude from any of the faculties Moreover they are very much concerned about Our future and helps when we ask for. The opportunity they provide for internships and also the guidance they are providing is also a great help. Overall I am lucky to have such good faculties in my college

Indira Gandhi National Open University - [IGNOU], Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Sep 5, 2025(Enrolled 2024)

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.
