Remarks

The only reason I've been to Hindu is because of it being in the 'Rank 1' of NIRF ranking in colleges. As we all know, SRCC has been the best of the commerce colleges. But, believe me, that Hindu is no less. Hindu has been a sensation and will forever be a sensation. Hindu has the least no. Of students in the bachelor's of commerce degree compared to the other two colleges (considered to be best) i.e. Hansraj and SRCC which has approximately 600. The best part about Hindu is its environment and the charisma it holds to suck students in. The annual fest 'Mecca' in Hindu is also one of the best things about the college. The professors are just epic and very friendly. The only part worth considering bad is the misogynist feature that girls are not equally respected by the boys on campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose B.Com. Honours due to the versatility and the subjects that are being taught in it. Most of it is on Accountancy Major. And, I wanted to pursue Chartered Accountancy. So, I thought that B.Com. Honours would be the perfect subject for me. The student ratio is approximate 60:30. The faculty is really nice. Atul sir, Divya Ma'am, Amit sir, Kanika Ma'am, Annu ma'am. All of them are just wonderful. They're the best teachers of all. The teaching method of all the teachers is amplifying and helps us understand things in a better way. They're trying their best in these hard times. The term exams were pretty good but the paper was quite difficult. And, the results are yet to come so I guess I can't say if I would pass or fail.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

My college does offer internship opportunities in many companies off and on campus. During the Covid period too, the companies have been hiring the students for a stipend and everything. That really shows the importance of Hindu College students and how they've been always preferred over others. Some of the companies that do offer internships are Sanshil, Honey care etc. And that really helps both sides of the aisle.

Placement Experience

3

I can't be precise about the college placements but I could assure you that Hindu has one of the best placements of all the colleges in the Delhi University circuit. The students become eligible for placements from their 3rd year and the companies which visit the campus are Zomato, Deloitte, Larson and Turbo etc. Approximately 30 students out of the strength of 92 get placed in companies and start working with them with high placement. The highest package ever been offered is around 20 lakhs per annum I guess. I'm not sure about it. My plans after getting the degree are that I'll be going for an internship company so that I can finish my CA Articleship. Because I really aspire to be a Chartered Accountant someday.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for OBC students is quite flexible. 18000 rupees per year is not too much. Though the amount to stay in Delhi is quite high considering every single expense in mind. The cost to study really makes it difficult for the students of lower economic background to get to study over there. The college does provide students with internships within various companies that help them to build some qualities and get some experience and make a quite good amount. There are some of the college scholarships that I'm unaware of. But, the college is providing laptops to students with no financial dependence. This approach really helps students to make education more viable.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of Hindu College is quite grand and the fest 'Zeitgeist' of the Commerce Department is also worth joining. The societies do hold a variety and heritage and legacy of their own. Being a part of Scribe - The literary society, 180 DC and many more has made me a better person with better qualities in myself. The best part is that the discussions that are held in the societies are knowledge enhancing and quite interactive. That really shows the brighter side of Hindu college. It has been and always will be a sensation for its societies. The only problem I have that they always select the 'Cream of the Cream' layer of students. And, that really affects the students that they end up thinking that they're not worth anything in the college.

Other Applied Colleges

Hansraj College | B.Com. (Honours)

Hindu is far more better than Hansraj. And, the Department of Commerce of Hansraj is way too large than Hindu's

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the daulat ram course 8/10. One of the main reasons i chose this course was that the syllabus felt balanced between theory and practical understanding..but the only drawback is that sometimes it felt a bit more theory based rather than practical exposure , the exam pattern is consistent mid-sem internals and end-sem finals twice a year. Internals are usually manageable, but end-semester exams depend a lot on the teacher marking style.

A good amount of students get place, approx 20 students were placed this tym in Deloitte. I will be continuing with ACCA only.

Course curriculum is as per Delhi University's official curriculum, so it's pretty good. But its very theoretical as well so if I would suggest an improvement it would be this to make the curriculum more real and practical life based rather than rote learning.

Students of 3rd year are eligible for the same. Mckinsey, BCG, Bain, Blackrock, Meesho etc being the most prestigious recruiters. Highest package varies, but it went around 36 L last year. Avg being around 8 L. I would say most students who apply for placements get placed, however only a few get placed in the top companies. I personally wish to pursue an MBA.
