Remarks

LBS Institute of Technology for Women is Kerala's second women's engineering College. My college has an excellent panel is faculties who are subject experts and nurture us throughout the course. Here we are empowered to take up leadership and conduct various programmes in the college. We learn to take up responsibilities on our own. This wouldn't have happened in a mixed College as most of the leaders will be men. We were given enough freedom to pursue our goals and were taken care of. The teachers carefully monitored our academics as well, so that we bothered to keep well in our studies amidst the extra curricular activities. Our college has an efficient Placement Cell which ensures maximum placement to all the students (98%). Many prestigious companies have come here for hiring. I myself got placed in Infosys and IBM through our campus placement. Our college provides good placement training also, free of cost. The admission procedure is fairly simple and it's based on the Kerala Entrance Allotment Exam Results. It takes overall 3hrs for admission and it will be mostly during the month of July after the KEAM results are published. A professor in CSE from another College, who is my acquaintance, has referred this college to me. I learnt more about the college through their portal www.lbsitw.ac.in I would strongly recommend my college to any woman who would like to take up their engineering degree and also excel in life as well as in extra curricular activities. To say about the cons, the campus is not too big. Also we have only few branches which is supposed to expand soon.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Faculty:student ratio would be 1:6. The teachers are all experienced faculty having degrees like BTech Mtech or PhD in their respective areas. They follow the best teaching practises and adapt to newer technologies. What I find the most interesting is that provide notes for the subjects they teach. They will cover the entire syllabus before the exams. There used to be three Series exams in one semester, conducted by the college. So before taking up the University Examination in each sem, we would've covered the entire syllabus at least once. The exam used to be of moderate level difficulty. Some used to be tough too, but this really helped us to succeed the university examinations.

Placement Experience

5

From the sixth semester, we will b eligible for attending placements. Many reputed companies like Infosys, IBM, Nokia, Samsung,Accenture, Tata Eleksi,Envestnet etc come tu our college. We have more than 300 placements in a year. 98% students get placed.Median package is 3LPA while maximum was 12LPA. I have joined the company

College Events

4

The annual fest is Yagna Dhruva which is usually conducted during the month of March every year. It's a cultural extravaganza with participants coming from all other colleges. The intra College arts festival is Yavanika, which is usually conducted during February. We also have a tech fest every year which be during August. The library has many books in all subjects. And we have journals, ebooks etc. We will usually find the book of our choice as it is widely available. Sports day is conducted every year on a particular day and we all would take part in that. The functions all have active participation. We are indeed famous for our college dance team and fashion show team, which bags the first prize in every events conducted by other colleges. There is College union, which is a political free union. Also there are many clubs like science club, environment club, arts club etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees would be Rs35000 per year (140000 for four years) for merit seat. While it was Rs65000 for management seat. There were a lot of scholarship schemes for the backward communities, financially backward and also for the single child. We have a good placement cell with a record of 98 percent campus placement. I got job in two companies-IBM and Infosys and software engineer.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

A table, desk, bed, cupboard is present in room. New hostel and hence good rooms. Good meals, but varies according to cooks. The registration can be done during admission and is based on location as well as rankings. There are many private hostels and PGs nearby.

Admission

No, there is a meeting with the principal which is a casual one. Its just a casual meeting where we would be asked about our family, hobbies, previous academics etc

Campus placements are highly volatile taking the stats from over the past three years there has been an up trend as well a down trend, I hope I will get placed through on campus interviews, the highest package of this year was for two graduates who got into IBM with 22 lakhs per aanum, there are few who didn't get into any of the companies while there were others who got int Amazon and other reputated companies, if I do not get into a reputed company through my college on campus placements the. I'll be aiming for higher educations most probably
