Remarks

When you appear for DU JAT, you prioritize certain colleges with respect to the courses i.e. BMS, BFIA, BBE. Gargi happens to be a decent choice for BBE wherein you get guidance from some great professors around the clock. Added to that you have myriad opportunities for academic as well as non-academic areas. You might feel a little lack of parity between BBE and B.com, however that fails to prove as a hindrance- in the end, your capabilities and curiosities matter. You get abundant opportunities to prove your mettle and carve your niche. The campus is facilitated enough with all the requisites. The admission process happens to be hassle-free and smooth. Do visit the official website gargicollege.in for the rest of the details!

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Going by the course curriculum, I found BBE quite interesting. It is different from both B.com and BA Hons Economics. It truly captures the essence of what a leader should be aware of. It is practically and theoretically stimulating. Microeconomics, Macro economics, International economics, Environmental Economics, Statistics, SPSS , Marketing Management, Organisational Behaviour with a touch of Mathematics, Quantitative techniques of management, and Cost Accounting, this gives potentially a holistic grasp of efficient skills and knowledge required to lead an entity. Exams and assignments went fluently with the pace of studies and it was never too burdensome and only complemented to what one was already studying. Teachers were highly qualified with experience appropriate for teaching such a vast curriculum. Their approach towards students was quite flexible and they adjusted and changed their ways of delivering lectures as and when required. The curriculum and faculty -truly great!

Internships Opportunities

3.5

As stated earlier there are ample opportunities with regards to internships and projects. The more you are aware the better it gets. Students also look for options other than those available in college. There are both paid and unpaid internships, its on the student to observe and utilize the opportunities.

Placement Experience

4

It remains your choice if you want to be a part of the placement drive or study even further. There are many companies which visit the campus for recruitment purpose. The companies such as Big four or certain startups all visit the campus. Also, the package differs, the highest package offered was 10 LPA and the median is around 5 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure was nominal, it was hiked once only. Also for financial assistance, there are options that can be availed if required( by reaching out to the Accounts department). You get enough opportunities to go for internships and side jobs that can help you through and also various competitions are paid as well. Looking through the cost lens, this one is a great opportunity. The placements offer somewhere around 4-7 LPA.

Campus Life

4.5

Reverie is the annual fest of the college. Else than that, you can attend the departmental fests organized by different departments as well. BBE's community organizes Advitva. Also, the BBE students of Gargi College participate in Roisters and Runbhoomi every year that is an inter-college series of competitions exclusively for BBE enrolled students. Library offers books, journals for whatever courses required, and access to E-library as well. You have ample of societies and clubs ( Debating, Traditional and western dances, Vocal and Instrumental, Theatre, Street Play, and much more) run by students who take part in a humongous number of competitions everywhere. You will never find a dearth of opportunities in Gargi college.

Interview Experience

4.5

Yes, back in 2016 I appeared in the DU JAT exam, clearing the same I further appeared in a Group Discussion round and a Personal Interview as well. Topics for GD can vary from anywhere to politics sports and current issues and also some abstract like Discuss on the color blue. There is no quick fix to achieve excellence in such scenarios. What comes in handy is the habit of reading which makes you a diverse individual, opens multiple perspectives, and makes you a lot more aware. Read as much as you can and practice speaking loudly in front of the mirror also get into conversations with your friends about different topics and you will surely see a change in your capacity to deal with such situations. For test patterns you need to check the guidelines for DU JAT, it has changed over the years.

There are quite few placement opportunities provided by the college but most of them are for sales or operations positions. At the sixth semester students are eligible for the Campus placements. BBA students gets an average package of 3.5 - 4 lakhs. My plan after completing BBA is to start my MBA journey. Currently preparing for my CAT Exam.
