Best self financing college in kerala.

The college is great college for those who wants to study and as well enjoy the campus life. College management doesnt interfere much unless u start fights. Pros are it is the top college in Cusat university. Cons can be not having huge campus area and having guest lecturers.

Kerala state engineering entrance is required for this college. I got 4563 and got computer science branch. A rank below 5000 is required minimum to get into this college.If you want other branches like Mech or EC , you got to score below 3000 rank. I chose this college because it is the best self financing colleges in kerala. It is one of the top 5 engineering colleges in kerala. Admissions processes are normal and will end it in one day. You got to bring all the necessary documents and some funds like PTA fund,Bus fund might be there.

The University is CUSAT, which is one of the best universities in india the things you study in computer science are good for your knowledge. You can have elective subjects in s7 and s8 only, which is only one or two subjects. The course structure is almost same as other universities.

College doesnt provide internship but if you want to go for any internship in any other companies you can apply by your own and college allows that. The students can invite companies and do internship in college itself on behalf of forums or unions like IEEE , FOCES etc. that is according to students ability.

Placement cell does a great a job here. If you have not much backlogs then you can get placed in MNC's like TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc. A lot of companies including startups recruit from MEC if you are not that bad you can get placed in my batch 60% people were placed. The companies offer normal salary according to their standars like TCS offers 2.4Lakhs per annum.

The arts and sports fest are conducted every year these are done on the basis of dividing the entire college into four groups. These groups compete each other in these fests. Arts fest called Excel normally conducts all well known items like dance, drama, skits, mimicry, songs, writing contests etc. The sports fest consist of all major sports items like football, cricket, athletics etc sports and arts days are celebrated for 3 days. There are also Tech fests called Ibito Excel conducted every 2 years with a huge participation from other colleges.

The fee structure is of Rs.20,000 per year for merit students. Management students have to give a fees of 65,000 per year. There are also NRI seats available in the college. The fees are decided by the IHRD of kerala as the college comes under IHRD. There might be a change in fees every year. There are also scholarships given to students with high ranks in entrance. They will tuoted free.

All the scholarships given to public can be availed if you are eligible. The college provides scholarships and free study for students with top ranks in each branch. Also there are several other scholarships provided by PTA. Loans are not given from college you should find it from banks according to your ability.

In simple words campus life is GREAT. Gender ratios are equal. Even though there are not much buildings or huge campus, it is little and beautiful. You can have fun in this area for sure. There is a football ground, basketball ground, volleyball ground etc. There are lovers corner, trees with shades, good library etc. There are political parties available which rules the campus. There are societies like IEEE, Foces etc. Extracurricular activities are encouraged by college if you are good at anything or interested.

Hostel facilities are available outside the campus. The are MH and LH for the college, which are given to students according to their distance and year of studying. College are clean or messy according to the students staying. There are only double rooms in MH, but have LH have double rooms and single rooms. The mess food is of average rating. You can stay in other hostels as paying guest or house for rent. The rentals will be at most 4k per month.

Even if they say there are no ragging, that's not true completely. The seniors do a little ragging in hostel and in college. But nothing to worry its not serious they become friendly seniors are a big help in academics and every events successful Alumnis are called to give us inspiration and guide us. There is an alumni fund also.

In every semester there will be one university exam at the end of the semester. There are two internal exam for internal marks in every semester. The inernals are out of 50 and it is added to the university marks which are out of 100. There will 2 labs in every semester. For me, the labs were fun.

The faculties in the college are pretty good, they are experienced, they are talented of course. There are a lot guest lectureres who come to teach in comp science department. They will be beginners. But the permanent staffs are very good there. Guest lecturers will complete the portion and teach you well what they know.
