Remarks

After so many years down the line, dont think I have any negative remarks about the college. though there used to be complaints when we were young, as one would expect.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum was interesting though and there was focus on creative approach to problem solving. It was designed to train oneself to be logical and assertive. While there are views on it being fair, theoretical and relevant to market conditions, people would be unanimous in stating that it was tedious, exhaustive and thorough. This helped in adapting oneself to the market easily when we were exposed to it.

Placement Experience

3

The internships, back then, used to be settled with the seniors and professors and there wasn't much effort on placements. It must be different now wherein colleges actively guide the students on internships and placements.

College Events

4

There is an annual fest called Utopia (it used to called that in 1990's) which was 4 day fest with many competitions, activities, seminars, shows etc involving colleges from Delhi and neighbourhood. There used to be shows from classical musicians under SPICMACAY. Apart from that there used a gathering of architectural colleges which used take place anywhere in India where the college used to actively participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was 'feasible' as there was a grant from UGC. However, later it was withdrawn which resulted in the course becoming a little expensive. The mode of payment was through a DD. Apart from the standard structure of tuition fees and related adminstrative charges, there were no other amounts charged per semester. the fee breakdown used to be completely transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

If the scholarship opportunities were there, I was not aware. I had heard of few foreign students availing the loan but most of us were not required to, as the fee structure was quite reasonable.

Campus Life

Campus life was great. There were a lot of things happening during the year which could keep oneself busy in items apart from the academic curriculum. the gender ratio was healthy and the atmosphere in the premises was conducive to higher learning and development as a professional

Hostel Facilities

I had availed the hostel facility. I was lucky to in batch which occupied a new hostel building in Maharani bagh which was spacious and nice. The charges for the room and food were reasonable. The hostel mess was one of the best in country with variety of food being served in breakfast and dinner. The lunch was served in mess near college.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the alumni used to visit and interact with the students and were very helpful. There were many influential people in the alumni with whom interactions used to happen during their visit to college.

Admission

The admission is through an entrance exam. During the early 90's ( I took admission in '91) there used to a scholastic test followed by an aptitude test for the college as it was deemed university. There were 65 seats for architecture and 20 seats for planning all over India. It was not centralised through NEET as it is now. The college had a great reputation and was one of the top three institutes for Architecture in India back then.

Faculty

4

The faculty was renowned and were dedicated in their pursuit of producing professionals of high calibre. Most of them were practising professionals apart from being columnists, authors etc. who had created a name for themselves in the field due to many year of hard work and success.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Placement Experience:

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is MSC operations research, which is a very vast and deep course. It goes deep into understanding business operations and providing the businesses with best quality steps. There were real life projects which have helped me alot in understanding difficult topics. If there could be more projects it would have been more helpful for studies. The exams level is moderate to difficult, have to study hard to perform good in tests/exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.
