Remarks

Overall, there are lots of negative remarks on SPA DELHI. They do not even provide basic facilities for the fees they take. Even what little facilities that exists are very poorly maintained. The lifts does not work more often than not, the coolers for drinking water are outdated and filters unchanged, fire extinguishers outdated, poor parking facilities, no grounds for sports related activities, no air conditioners in the classroom for the unbearable Delhi heat, very poor provision of funds, non-existent placement cells, and the lists goes on.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is quite difficult. It gives very less time for other activities, and workload is very high. There are 2-3 jury subjects and 3-4 non-jury subjects every year, out of total five years of the course. In the jury subjects, a part of total marks is calculated through various submissions and assignments throughout the semester, and remaining part of the marks through an external jury which consists of jury members who will come and evaluate the work after each semester.

Placement Experience

1

The placement is very poor in SPA DELHI. There is supposed to be a placement cell, which is also mentioned in the official website of SPA, but it doesn't exist. Almost everyone will have to search for jobs themselves, or start their own firms. This is a very poor remark.

College Events

1.5

There are 13 societies for various activities in the college. Also, there are 2 fests called Mini Utopia and Utopia which is conducted once every year. The fests are not as good as compared to other colleges because of the lack of funds provided.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure when I took admission in the college, in 2017, was quite feasible. But currently, the fees have been increased by two times, and is too expensive now, when we consider the amenities and facilities the college provides.

Fees and Financial Aid

As of now, there is no scholarship or loan facilities that are exclusively provided by the college. For any educational loan related facilities, the students have to search for it on their own in various private banks. The same situation stays for scholarships too.

Campus Life

0.5

The extra curricular activities are very poor in the college. The existing labs are very outdated and poorly maintained, and there is not even a single sports ground for the whole college. Even for any sports related events, the students have to book grounds on their own outside and conduct the events, and the college provides very little funds for these.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

The hostel does not provide accomodation for even half of the students who get admitted. The infrastructure is also very poor, and they are very poorly maintained. The drinking water facilities, the mess food, fire safety, etc are very poor and of low quality. The hostel is almost 10 kilometres away from the college, and yet no college bus facility is provided. Students have to take cabs or auto-rickshaws on their own to reach college, which is very difficult.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is also very poor in the college. They do not provide as much help as they actually can. But during the academic year, the senior students try to help us out with submissions and doubts, and the juniors also return the favour.

Admission

The admission to SPA DELHI is through JEE MAIN PAPER 2 examination conducted by JOSAA, which is under MHRD, India. This is the same exam for admission to various NITs and SPAs in India. After the results came, I had to shortlist my preference for 3 colleges that take admission through this exam, on the JOSAA website. After this procedure, and after various rounds of allotment, I got to know that I got admission to SPA DELHI.

Faculty

2

The faculty in the college is quite talented and supportive. They mostly consists of the alumni of the college, but there are other faculties and contract faculties too. But there are some faculty members who give too much pressure and workload, and are less supportive. But overall, the faculty members are good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the forst year the faculty will make you do completely dumb and irrelevant stuff which is mostly not related to the real life. You will surely feel like and think in a way that why you are doing all this, but slowly the curriculum will get difficult and would have real world applications. In the starting you should improve your drafting and most importantly you should procastinate your work and should learn the importance of time management.

The professors are from good colleges themselves and the teaching methodology is that of an experienced person in the feild. Exams take place annually, semester marking is done on the basis of internal assisment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is very practical, you don't have to be in class, you can go out, explore and learn. I love to draw and design. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 Teachers are good and helpful .they all are architects and everyone has a totally different view of your design. There are 2 semesters, so 4 unit tests and 2 yearly exams, the theory exams are fine but the practical ones where you have to present your work in front of a juror are tough. it is not necessary if they'll like your design or not .so they can give you fewer marks.
