Remarks

No one is perfect. I am happy with what I am getting from my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Exams are conducted once in a semester (in the end). Assignments are given each week and marked accordingly. We get a time of one week to complete assignment of each subject which is not a bad deal. Also we get weekends off to have some time for relax after 5 days of classes and submission.

Placement Experience

3

We get to have internship in 8th semester as part of the curriculum which ranges from 4 to 8 months, which varies as per interest of intern, firm and work. We also have a placement cell. Some big companies do make it to SPA including Deloitte, EY, CBRE, EGIS, JLL but the average package would be about 5–6 L with the highest that I’ve heard about 10 LPA being offered by one of the Big Four.

College Events

5

We have events for sports, fests like MINI- ATHLOS, MINI-UTOPIA, ATHLOS, UTOPIA, INTER-SPA. Since it is not a technical institution, so we have only cultural festivals and sports events which ranges to 6 or more per year. Also, every major festival including regional festivals are celebrated with students of all batches, within the hostel campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The feasibility of college varies as per individual. Roughly for admission fee, mess fee and hostel fee, it comes around 150000 per year. Along with that there are many expenses like field visit, everyday travelling, trips, stationary and other expenses.

Fees and Financial Aid

College offers a scheme STUDENT AID FUND every year where an individual gets 25000 RS as per financial situation and merit status.

Campus Life

3.5

We enjoy our hostel life. We get several dj nights, parties, fests and festivals celebrations in the hostel. There are various cultural societies for various activities like installations dance, music, games, painting, movies etc in which individual can participate and enhance their skills.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I got hostel in both first and second year. In first year, we get rooms with occupancy of 3 people and then from second to fifth year, we get rooms with single occupancy. Rooms are average. We can also share rooms with our batch mates officially. Within the hostel campus we also have a courtyard where everyone gathers and do various activities.

Alumni/Alumna

Everyone in the college is helpful including juniors, batch mates, seniors, alumni, and faculty. We also have interaction sessions with seniors.

Admission

I always wanted to be an architect. Since the college in which I am studying is the best in india. So, to get admission in S.P.A, we have to pass exam JEE MAINS PAPER-2. I got 177 rank and got admission in the college. According to rank I was also able to get the hostel. After the exam which is conducted on first Sunday of April, we have to attend JOSAA counselling, in which we get the college according to our rank. Then in last week of July the admission process starts and classes starts just after the allotment of hostel.

Faculty

5

We all have a group with faculty for each subject. We can approach them personally by phone or e-mail. No. of Lecturers present in the class is according to the length of lecture and importance. Most of the faculty is well experienced as they all are graduated from the same college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the forst year the faculty will make you do completely dumb and irrelevant stuff which is mostly not related to the real life. You will surely feel like and think in a way that why you are doing all this, but slowly the curriculum will get difficult and would have real world applications. In the starting you should improve your drafting and most importantly you should procastinate your work and should learn the importance of time management.

I chose the course because of my passion for buildings, the faculty is very dedicated and teacehrs put in alot of hard work with the students. The gender ratio is impressively 1:1. The professors are from good colleges themselves and the teaching methodology is that of an experienced person in the feild. Exams take place annually, semester marking is done on the basis of internal assisment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is very practical, you don't have to be in class, you can go out, explore and learn. I love to draw and design. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 Teachers are good and helpful .they all are architects and everyone has a totally different view of your design. There are 2 semesters, so 4 unit tests and 2 yearly exams, the theory exams are fine but the practical ones where you have to present your work in front of a juror are tough. it is not necessary if they'll like your design or not .so they can give you fewer marks.

Remarks:

Overall, there are lots of negative remarks on SPA DELHI. They do not even provide basic facilities for the fees they take. Even what little facilities that exists are very poorly maintained. The lifts does not work more often than not, the coolers for drinking water are outdated and filters unchanged, fire extinguishers outdated, poor parking facilities, no grounds for sports related activities, no air conditioners in the classroom for the unbearable Delhi heat, very poor provision of funds, non-existent placement cells, and the lists goes on.
