Likes

College has various weekly talks, discussions, meetings, etc. They bring in many well-known architects who are doing great in the profession.
College had a very good professors. In the later years, the curriculum and the professors who teach them are very good.
The student activities are throughout the year and college fests in both the semesters are amazing.

Dislikes

Due to various reasons, there is decline in the quality of professors in recent years.
The infrastructure of the college is not good and students have to travel 10+ kms everyday from hostel to college.
The management of hostel and mess is really pathetic in the past few years with increase of fees at

Student view on course curriculum

No one prepares you for the curriculum at Architecture schools. The number of submissions and the intensity of pressure throughout the semester is really high. Especially the amount of work load is incomparable with other courses. But that's what make them strong and deserving. Yet, it is really away from the real life applications. There are a lot of areas in the curriculum that needs to be reinvented.

Placement provided by the college

The campus placement starts in last year. Oddly 30% students might get placed based on the specific year placement cell performance. Some good companies approach the college. But, in architecture field they aren't 100% relevant and it isn't a good criteria to judge a college.

Total course fees and provided scholarship

The current fee is 75000rs. But apparently, the fees of tuition, mess and hostel are increasing rapidly every year. There are few scholarships available. No campus employment you can undertake.

College events and various activities

The social life is the best thing the college can offer after the excellent academics. Student-run clubs and events are quite active and lot of fun. It's the X-factor in the whole college. Although, the facilities provided by college are less, the students active life is quite vibrant.

Hostel facilities provided by the college

The hostel facilities are bad. 100% of the students don't get the opportunity as campus can accommodate only few people. Meal quality is ok. In the recent years the number of surges in charges are totally unacceptable. The registration process of hostel and mess is pathetic. But somehow living in the hostel is the best thing that can be done. Kotla(beside college) Laxmi Nagar, Mayur vihar are the localities students rent a PG.

Student views on the faculty

The faculty to student ratio is quite decent. Each class has 3-5 faculty members based on the studio. But in the recent years, there is a decline in the quality of hiring new faculty. It is clearly affecting the performance of college at various stages. But the faculty in the final years is really good.

Eligibility Criteria of the college

The admission is done through JEE MAINS Architecture exam. The cut-off is quite high as the college is one of the top college. The exam happens once in a year. The admission process is quite simple and feasible.

Review of school of planning and architecture delhi

Likes

There is only one class for one year so you know everyone.
Is in the heart of delhi and all the planning related institues are nearby.
Has a huge alumini network and the college has a good value as it is the best college of planning in India

Dislikes

The college is very small. There are two blocks - planning and architecture block and both are around 500m apart and also the college doesn't have area for anything. It can't be said as a campus
The college has very poor infrastructure.
Hostel is far from college and there is no transportation facility

Admission:

This was my top most preferred college as it is the best college in India for planning. I was getting admission in school of planning and architecture Vijayawada before this and I got into spa delhi through the csab allotment

I was preparing for architecture and had made it to reputed colleges like CEPT, NITs, JMI, and CET. Paralley i got B.Plan at SPA too. If you get a decent rank, voila! you get a seat.

Admission:

I tried for some other DU universities. I even got into Miranda House but at the end I decided to come here because I had some friends who were here already and also because of some other connections. The course I got into in Miranda wasn't something my mother wanted me to go for as well so here we are.

The campus is too small for the vast amount of students

Admission:

The college is of national importance and we did not know the course was too hard and sleep deprived and has a very small campus and a hostel at 6.7kms far and no sign of getting a new campus dues to internal issues

The college alumni is pretty strong and the connection and exposure u get is pretty good.

Dislikes

Our college being and institute of national importance lacks infrastructure

Admission:

This course only takes JEE qualified students. There is a 2nd paper of JEE conducted specifically for this. The cutoffs for this university is too high, around 200 is the cutoff for generals. Me being a general and my rank was around 180 so got in the 2nd round. The JEE examination happens twice.

College has various weekly talks, discussions, meetings, etc. They bring in many well-known architects who are doing great in the profession.
The student activities are throughout the year and college fests in both the semesters are amazing.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is not good and students have to travel 10+ kms everyday from hostel to college.

The culture of the place is extremely diverse and literally every festival is celebrated with equal enthusiasm

Dislikes

The infrastructure really poor with improper labs and broken machines

JEE mains paper-2 rank should be with 150 in general category could be till 500 in other categories. The admissions take place through josaa counseling only The exam does not need much of preparation if ypu have prepared enough for 12th and you are good at sketching. There is EWS, SC /ST, PWDand OBC reservations where in SC ST PWD students get 50%fee waiver

Yes, Admission to Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning for the session 2024 -25 will be made through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-2024), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria and reservation.

SPA New Delhi does not accept NATA scores for admission to any of its courses. Admissions to the courses are based on UCEED, GATE, JEE Mains examinations.

No, there is no specific reservation for Kashmiri Pandits in SPA, Delhi. The reservation is only given on the basis of your caste category.
