The course admission process starts in February with application submissions, shortlisting in March, and interviews in April. Final selections are announced at the end of April. Interview questions typically cover personal background and goals. Each class has about 23 students, guided by a faculty team of 3 permanent members, an HOD, 2 visiting faculty, and 1 Ph.D. scholar. Half of the faculty have significant local industry experience, and 1-2 are alumni with 3-10 years of professional experience.
GATE scholars receive a Rs 12,000 monthly stipend, which helps with daily expenses, transport, study trips, and hostel fees. Non-GATE scholars, however, have to cover study trip expenses themselves, making it costlier. Internships are mandatory in some departments and optional in others, conducted after the first year for two months. The college offers limited placement opportunities from reputable companies. GATE scholars benefit from a stipend, and for those needing financial aid, the college supports loan documentation for banks.
