School of Planning & Architecture(SPA), New Delhi offers B.Arch.(5-Year), and B.Plan.(4-Year) as its popular courses at the UG level.

Admission to these programs are based on certain eligibility criteria which are given below-

SPA New Delhi UG Eligibility Criteria-

• Candidates must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 or equivalent examinations.
• Candidates must have PCM as the main subject in 10+2 examinations.
• Candidates who have qualified 10+3 Diploma courses with Maths as the main subject.
• Candidates must have obtained at least 50% in a Diploma course.

SPA New Delhi UG Selection Criteria

• Candidates must have applied for the JEE Main examination.
• Candidates must have appeared in JEE Main exams.
• Final Selection will be done as per JoSAA Counselling.

How to Apply for UG Courses?

For applying to B.Arch and B.Plan courses the candidate needs to apply for the National Level Entrance Examination by National Testing Agency (NTA) JEE Main.

• Scanned signature
• Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

School of Planning & Architecture (SPA), New Delhi offers an M.Arch. in 3 specializations under its PG programs. The course duration is 2 years and the student intake is 73 in total.

SPA New Delhi M.Arch. Eligibility Criteria-

• B.Arch.(Architectural Conservation) - Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent.
• B.Arch.(Landscape Architecture)- Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture, or Planning, or Master’s Degree in Planning or equivalent postgraduate diploma of a recognized university/institution, or certificate of completion of Pre-Landscape Architecture Course of the SPA, New Delhi.
• B.Arch.(Urban Design)- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Planning from a recognized University or equivalent.

SPA New Delhi M.Arch. Selection Criteria-

• Selection to M.Arch. program at SPA Delhi is purely Merit-Based.
• Students must have secured valid marks in Bachelor of Architecture.
• A portfolio of candidate's work and work experience will also be considered as eligibility criteria.
• A written test will be conducted along with a personal interview.
• GATE/CEED candidates will be preferred.

How to Apply for an M.Arch Course?

• M.Plan.(Housing)-- Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Municipal Engineering or Building Engineering or M.A. in Sociology or Economics from a recognized university or equivalent.
• M.Plan. (Regional Planning)-- Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, or M.A. in Geography, Economics, or Sociology from a recognized university or equivalent.
• M.Plan.(Transport Planning)-- Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture, or Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent, or Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Operational Research/ Economics from a recognized university or equivalent.
• M.Plan.(Urban Planning)-- Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering, or M.A. Geography, Economics, or Sociology from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Master of Building Engineering and Management –Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Engineering or Four-Year Building Science or Five-Year Diploma in Construction Technology, or equivalent from a recognized university/institution established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature.
• Master of Design (Industrial Design)-- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture of a recognized university or equivalent, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Design/ Fine Arts of a recognized university or equivalent with valid CEED score (essential for non-architectural candidates) from approved streams.

School of Planning & Architecture (SPA), New Delhi offers admission to Ph.D. programs in 12 different specializations.

SPA New Delhi Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria-

Full-Time Research Scholar

The applicants for admission to the full-time Ph.D. Program should possess any of the following qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in any of the courses conducted by the School/ Integrated Master’s Degree course or its equivalent conducted by any other recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 60 % aggregate marks or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA),OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Bachelor’s Degree in Planning/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent, conducted by any recognized University/ Institution with a minimum aggregate of 80 % or 8.0 GPA or equivalent grade and minimum 3 years of experience (relevant to the proposed topic) in teaching/ research/ professional practice, OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Bachelor’s Degree in Planning/ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent conducted by any recognized University/ Institution with a minimum of aggregate 60 % marks or equivalent grade, and minimum 10 years of experience (relevant to the proposed topic) in teaching/ research/ professional practice, OR
• Master’s Degree in allied disciplines, as decided by the respective Departmental Research Committee (DRC) on case to case basis, relevant to different streams offered in this School by various departments, with a minimum of 60 % aggregate marks and a minimum of 10 years’ experience (relevant to the proposed Ph.D. topic) in teaching/ research/ professional practice.

Part-Time Research Scholar

Eligibility criteria for part-time scholars shall be the same as specified above for Full-Time Research Scholars. In addition, if the applicant is employed, the NOC from the employer is required.

Foreign Nationals

Eligibility qualifications for foreign nationals are the same as stated above. Further, they are required to submit their applications through the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of External Affairs. All such scholars shall be full-time scholars.

SPA New Delhi Ph.D. Selection Criteria-

• The candidate must have a valid score in Graduation. The basic selection will be provided on merit.
• Candidates must have secured valid marks in UGC-NET examinations.
• The selection of a Ph.D. program will be provided to the UGC- Net qualified candidates only.
