5

the curriculum focuses on real world design problems, critical thinking and other software skills that are going to be useful in the professional field. but in this era of artificial intelligence, there is no academic upskilling with AI right now. professors are working on incorporating AI with the curriculum and it will soon be incorporated.

The institution does not have in-house scholarships but supports external scholarships for students. This includes programs such as merit-cum-need scholarships and other government initiatives, enabling students from various economic backgrounds to benefit. The fee structure is uniform for all students in the regular batch (40 students).

Campus Life

4

the events like onam, Diwali and Eid take place on the fastivals in the department itself. the students can access the library books anytime when the department is open (till 5:30pm) but you can not issue them for home. 1st and 2nd year students have normal classes without AC but for some subjects the classes with projector or TV are accessed. 3rd,4th and 5th year students use in computer labs(with AC) as there classroom. jamia has it's own sports complex which can be accessed by all the jamia students.in the sports complex students can play badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football and cricket.every year inter-faculty takes place around January to February.

Admission

this is the college that i wanted to take admission in, because jamia is at rank 7 in architecture school all over india including private colleges and taking about Delhi this is the second best college, and another important factor for choosing this college is its super low fees compared to any other architecture college. to get admission in jamia Millia Islamia, b.arch program you have to be 12th pass with science stream (PCM) then you have to give the national aptitude test for architecture(NATA) and fill the regression form of the college from the jamia website. the admission will be granted on merit bases.

Faculty

5

the faculty to student ratio is 4 professors over 40 students. every student is approached by the professor personally and they discuss there design problem with them. the faculties i like are our design faculty dr. mohammad saquib arts faculty dr. mohd. arshad ameen structure faculty dr.adil ahmed and a lot more like them, they talk like they are not professors but your friends, we can ask them any doubt without hesitation. there are 2-3 sessionals in the whole year and the final exam in the end

3

the gym is only accessible to students who are in the jamia team in any soprts. the library (ibn sina and zakir hussain library) is open till 12 at night, accessible to every student. canteens are open till 9:00pm. some of the famous hangout places are central canteen in north campus, castro cafe in south campus and community centre (CC) in new friends colony (NFC). jamia campus is safe to roam for the hosteller at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the forst year the faculty will make you do completely dumb and irrelevant stuff which is mostly not related to the real life. You will surely feel like and think in a way that why you are doing all this, but slowly the curriculum will get difficult and would have real world applications. In the starting you should improve your drafting and most importantly you should procastinate your work and should learn the importance of time management.

The professors are from good colleges themselves and the teaching methodology is that of an experienced person in the feild. Exams take place annually, semester marking is done on the basis of internal assisment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it is very practical, you don't have to be in class, you can go out, explore and learn. I love to draw and design. The faculty-student ratio is 1:40 Teachers are good and helpful .they all are architects and everyone has a totally different view of your design. There are 2 semesters, so 4 unit tests and 2 yearly exams, the theory exams are fine but the practical ones where you have to present your work in front of a juror are tough. it is not necessary if they'll like your design or not .so they can give you fewer marks.

Remarks:

Overall, there are lots of negative remarks on SPA DELHI. They do not even provide basic facilities for the fees they take. Even what little facilities that exists are very poorly maintained. The lifts does not work more often than not, the coolers for drinking water are outdated and filters unchanged, fire extinguishers outdated, poor parking facilities, no grounds for sports related activities, no air conditioners in the classroom for the unbearable Delhi heat, very poor provision of funds, non-existent placement cells, and the lists goes on.
