Likes

The professors and teachers are really good and gives us motivation to study
The canteen and classrooms are well maintained
Safety in our college is a priority which is a merit

Dislikes

The sanitation facility especially the toilets are in a bad state
There are many inactive cells and societies that discourages the co curricular activities
The admin services are not very prompt and active there's always delayed gratifications

Course Curriculum Overview

I feel like the curriculum is a little out dated and boring but due to a good faculty it makes the course more worthwhile The curriculum is very text based and less practical and more emphasis on bookish knowledge persists still .

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 29000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is around 29000 yearly and there are all the miscellaneous taxes inclusive in it . The fee will hoke innthe coming years I suppose For general it is 29k for minority the fee differs Depending on their category.

Campus Life

The library of our college is excellent and we have all the variety of books available. We do take the leisure of sitting there and study one in awhile . There is a computer lab , admin office conference hall , amphitheatre and a hall .there are festd like manjari that take place every year and every department does its own department fests.

Admission

I got this college because of my curt score and my preference list the college was definitely my top 5 college but not the course . I have preference to the college because of its prime location and reputation.

Faculty

There are about 25 professors in our department. They are regular and very transparent with students. There is a mentor mentee program that helps the professors and students to bond and discuss any issues that one might be facing academically. The teacger incharge of our department is peculiar and very kind . I didn't come across any bad professor yet The exams are in a pattern where there are internal activities like IA, CA and tests There are mid term exams that are of 30 marks There are presentations that carry marks Then there are final exams

Night Life

Cafeteria is my favourite hangout stop due to its hold vibe and gold clean maintenance it becomes a hub for alot of students. The food is decent. The front lawn is also well maintained especially during winters students hangout in the sunlight.

Well in my course , which is not technical and IT related, students mostly land paid interships from 2nd year . One of the most prestigious interships is the one with the vice chancellor. Placements among the commerce and IT students as far as I have heard is pretty good

Placement Experience:

Since I am from Arts deparemt, there were not much options and I did not sit in the placements I cannot say much about it here. Although there were seminars related to differents fellowship options such as Gandhi fellowship, Texah for India. Some people from my department got in them and they are doing fine as of now so yes there are option once your are in the campus you'll get to know about them.

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus

Life at one of the top girls college in delhi

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for my course, economics hons. , I would say is very relevant to our day to day life. The curriculum set by the university doesn't focus only on indian economics but economies through out the world. The suggested books are also the top books used in many international top universities. The curriculum provides us with a lot of real world applications through various case studies. For exams the delhi university guidlines are followed and I would say now the exams are based on more of practical usage and how materials taught in class are applied in real life.

Placement Experience:

Dyal Singh Placements aren't that hefty that I can boast a lot about them. Since I have already mentioned in previous section that I want the deepest knowledge of political science and the only way, one can gain that is by doing masters. Coming to DSC placements over 30% students of Political Science from our college are placed via campus.

Daulat Ram was 5th on my list , above it was KMC, MIRANDA , LSR & HINDU . I put these colleges about because their political science department is better as suggested and guided by my seniors studying in those respective colleges. The admission process in DRC is similar to the other DU college,i.e, CUET . The cutoff for my course political science always goes the highest. Mg score my 866/1000. Daulat Ram College takes admission through CUET (Common University Eligibilty Test) Score just like other Delhi University Colleges. I have always been that person who aspired to go to north campus to study. I scored 830/1000 marks in my CUET Exam enough to clear the cutoff for B.A. (Hons.) Economics at Daulat Ram College. Truths of Daulatram College

I applied to surajmal college in ipu with bba course I got accepted into it but didn't go as fees was very high and they have strict rules of parent teacher meeting and uniform so not much college vibes , as compared to daulatram which is at prime of North campus and got the course I wanted eco honours the process included entrance exam ceut ug which includes maths in particular for eco honours cutoff is usually around 720-740/800 for daulatram....Read More

Insights into DRC

After appearing for CUET UG, we make preferences of the desired college and on the basis on the CUET score, colleges are alloted. So, Daulat Ram College was my 7th preference and I was alloted this as per my category and cut off I cleaned. Although it was 7th preferred college, I have no regret of getting into it.
