Remarks

I wont say anything bad about my college because thapar gave me a carrier of success and those unforgettable moments that i spent there.

Entrance Preview

I took IIT JEE & AIEEE, Cleared IIT JEE screening scored 13000 AIR rank in AIEEE. I opted Thapar college as it is one of the prestigious college in india and that too in my hometown Patiala.

Course Curriculum Overview

I opted Electronics and communication. The course curriculum was up to the standards of the stream at international level.

Internships Opportunities

My college internship was awesome as i was one of the 7 students who got selected for internship at Free Scale Semiconductors Lt. Noida and that too with stipend Rs 13000 month. The company is MNC and is reputed as one of the greatest MNC in the field of electronics. It was like a dream come true for me to have first ever experience in such a MNC.

Placement Experience

I got my placement in Aricent Gurgoan which is also great MNC in the field of IT. I was offered as handsome package there and my experience in Aricent was also a great learning for me.

College Events

Satunalia event for fold dances,Armania event of fun and dance,Nul conn technical event where students shows off their skills in technical field.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee at our time was affordable to common man. It was Rs 36k Sem. But now i heard it has shoot up to 1 lac 25k Sad to hear this as i don't think its affordable now.

Fees and Financial Aid

Loan facility was offered by State bank of Patiala. But i don't know how many student had taken loan atleast from my student group there was no one.

Campus Life

The four years are unforgettable I think it once in life time. We enjoyed our 4 years with full of fun and party and yes with study also. I suggest new joinees to enjoy every moment of college life as it will not come back again.

Hostel Facilities

Well i was day scholar but i know about the hostel and mess food. I found it not that bad as i used to hear about other colleges.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very active and responsive as i used to get regular emails from them regarding upcoming events at Thapar and if need any information they help me with a smile.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was also not very bad. We used to have 2 Mid Sems,2 Tuits and one final along with practical.

Faculty

Faculty was very helping and cooperative except two-three teacher which is acceptable and common in any college. They had the strong hold of their subject which they teach and their teaching style was very so that students can grasp the subject quickly.

Good campus life with decent academics

Placement are decent.Many companies visit the campus,but getting a good package depends on your skills and performance.Teh university also provides training support. Some companies like Deloitte,nexity consulting,Bigbasket,zepto etc visited are campus.

Average placements for the college. As for the good stduents and competitive students companies r coming and they get internships and jobs . Companies like Deloitte, Adobe , Playsimple. Scalar AI labs , LG etc .Good Stsrtup and well knowed companies gave placements .

Life at Chandigarh University A CSE Student

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

Internships at LPU

Placement Experience:

I exactly don't know but after 4 th or 5 th students are eligible for internship and placements. Generally in 7th semester 90 percent students grab their internship. Many companies visit on campus placement like Capgemini, Amazon, Infosys, TCS, Microsoft and many more. Highest package offered is 64 LPA by Microsoft and lowest was 4 LPA. Almost 90 percent students get placed by 8th semister. I also want to go to a MAANG company after getting my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am interested in computer science so I choose this course to learn programing how the code works in computer. Student ratio is 22 in class. Teacher are well qulified and there teaching method is easy to understand. There two term exam in 6 months and these exam is not difficult

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More
