Entrance Preview

GATE- My %tile was 95 in electronics and communication in year 2006. I did not get admission in IIT. Finally got admission in Thapar.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Curriculum was good. But some subject should be updated like solid state devices.(Here content of MOS should be more). Because rite now whole industry is using MOS.

Internships Opportunities

I did my internship in college only. CAD tool is availabe over there. other things you have to do by your self. I was getting stipend from MHRD (Indaian goverment) on the gate bases. It was 5000/ at that time.

Placement Experience

Placement is not 100% for M.tech over there. But mostly student are placed for in campus aur out of campus. I was not placed in campus as i have a 2nd division in 10th standard. But from out side campus i got job.

College Events

Freshers party is around 3 month after session started. In this mostly are cultural program is there like dance, singing, skits and all that.ARHANYA technical fest is good. Many good college participate in thst.

Fees and Financial Aid

For some AIEEE rainkers college provide scholarship. Loan facility is there. Banks give easely loan on the name of Thapar University.

Exam Structure

A lot of exam are there. Every day you have to give exam. It may be announce quiz /unannounce quiz, sessional of final exam.

Here in Thapar 2-3 faculty was very good. Like ALPANA AGRAWAL, AK Chaterjee . But some more good faculty is needed. No faculty for analog circuits and same is for VHDL/verilog.

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is good and it is improving since then. TPO looks after this process and it is responsible to call comapnies to the college and discuss about the eligibility of the students who can appear for the placements. For internships, students in the 3rd year appear for it while for placements 4th year students can appear. The average package is approx. 8-9 LPA while the highest has gone to 64 LPA during my college duration. Almost all students get placement.

My imperfectly perfect College life reviewed for everyone who needs it

Placement Experience:

Though when I got admission in this college, I saw the placement rates were very nice, around 95%, but maybe it was our session's fault. I passed out in 2024, and in that particular year, the placements were not as expected and as seen in the previous batch, so that was something very much disappointing because I paid so much money on a degree, only everything was good about the college, but in the end, placement matters during my session. Usually, the companies that hired for example, 10 students only hired two students.

It gives excellent placement offers with around 270 companies visits. The highest package for 2025 passng batch is 54LPA with a average package of 10 to 12 LPA. Top companies like google , apple ,microsoft,amzon ,Barclays ,deloitte and many more offers in thapar.

Placement Experience:

College does provide a decent number of companies to students to get placed but as per seniors Companies come with good package but students fail to grab them. Students are eligible for placement form 7th semester. As data given to us from t&p for this year currently the minimum package is 6 lpa and average is touching 8 but don't get excited it's just the starting months of placement season. My plan is to get a good college for post grad as that was my plan from the start ??

A though about thapar university

Placement Experience:

Students became eligible for placement after 3rd year. Google, Adobe, de shaw, L&T, Schneider, Amazon etc visit campus The highest package was 42 lacs and the median package is 8.1 lacs. More than 90% get placed.

inside campus walls

i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More

I applied to IGDTUW , VIT vellore and other colleges i got into both in VIT i got CS but it was too far away plus the placement percentage there is comparatively low and IGDTUW i didn't have mg prefered branch.
