Remarks

College managemet in is good. College was fun learning experience with bad placement cell.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course consists of 6 semesters in graduation and 4 semesters in post graduation which caters to providing tuition in various subjects to students trying to prepare them for media industry. The syllabus provides scope to learn writing for print and broadcast and new media, professional camera work with studio facility.

Placement Experience

1.5

Companies that visited were mostly from media industry (media house). Placement cell was not up to the mark. Sending a mails did not help.

College Events

4.5

Lots of events with certified acknowledgement during graduation. Less in post graduation. Photography, graphic designing and editing events. Food festivals and Annual Managedia fest ( iLead college kolkata) and Alaron ( FMS kolkata). Film promotions followed by film screening.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is high for an average income family. Three lakh fifty thousand for graduation and 3 lakh ten thousand for post graduation which hiked up to 5 lakh per annum after I graduated. With twenty thousand as a caution deposit and five thousand as alumni fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Neither did I opt for a scholarship nor did I opt for a loan for my education. The eligibility criteria was minimum 75%. Half money scholarship was an option.

Campus Life

5

Campus life is good an friendly. No ragging. Mac lab studio facility for graduation amd post graduation. 60 students a class with gender ratio being 8 female 6 male. Sports events for indoor and outdoor games. Jefferson's debate. Good toilet and water facility.

Hostel Facilities

5

Did not opt for hostel. Though hostel facility was an option during post graduation, did not care for the paid facility as I moved in with parents during my education. Eight thousand per month is the hostel facility service with one meal as an added advantage.

Alumni/Alumna

Experience with college seniors is helpful and they fairly help prepare juniors to become industry ready sharing their own experience with juniors.

Admission

Entrance, written test, personal Interview, review. Newspaper advertisement enquiry on call lead to entrance test and personal interview. Witten test of 100 marks. With PI and group discussion. Question paper was mix of objective and subjective questions.

Faculty

5

Number of lectures 80, age and qualification 18 to 25/27 with minimum 60% marks in previous exam. Memtors room, by email. Call before 8 pm for doubt if really nescessary. Mailing was a option for all students in the batch. Teachers were okay with mailing students notes, roster and assignments.

The placements are very good for BTech students. As I don't know much about Mtech but M.Sc placements are also good not too good but average. BTech has the best placements because many companies offer them job as this college is NIT level college.

If the student is quite serious to go for a PHD after completing his MSc from here, I would say it is a great choice but if one is looking for the option to explore some other field after completing his MSc from here, I wouldn't recommend of getting a degree from here.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus structure of KU is totally based on the IIT JAM exam syllabus. That helps students very much in future preparation for Ph.D. Also KU offers special classes for competitive exam preparations including SPSC or UPSC as well as helps to get placements in the private sector. And professors are very highly qualified they can teach this syllabus in depth and with care

Course Curriculum Overview:

The program curriculum encompasses Biological Sciences as well as it could have been. It is very elaborate comprising every branches from Instrumemtation and Methodologies to Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology for that matter. You are ought to have three theory papers and two practical and Grand VIVA papers each semester with a total of 4 semesters over two years. In the last semester, you need to prepare your dissertation. The papers include all the basic concepts and their applications and demands hard hours. I believe the syllabus can be relaxed a bit and the number of papers per term expanded and compartmentalised so as to reduce the load of individual papers. All the faculties are very supportive and Friendly and appreciate doubts and queries always.
