Entrance Preview

PGCET Exam M.tech, Computer Science. Course was interesting and also reasearch oriented .Interview process was normal, Had to submit the regular docs needed marks sheet and necessary verification docs required.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course was mainly research oriented. Mainly Computer science oriented subjects ,Electives were SAN, Network Security ,Computer Graphics. And also we had Lab which were recently added to Master degree course.

Internships Opportunities

There are some good opportunities for internship.IT as well as some government organisations offer some of them. Some or paid intern ship and some have to work for projects. It gives us good exposure during this activity.

Placement Experience

Around 85% of the students were placed. Most of the IT companies visited our campuses interviews.We also had trainings for the interviews.

College Events

Technical workshops on Recent trend in industries,Cultural fest of MVJ ,Seminars on Cloud computing. DATA mining workshops.Inter-college fest , Tech talk.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are some scholarship for toppers .Every year they declare schorship to some needed also. Apart from that Education loan can also be availed.

Campus life is cool, have Basketball court, Cricket ground.Enjoyed a lot in Cultural fest and sports activities.They conduct annual sports .Activities were very good to participate.

Alumni/Alumna

Got lots of info from seniors .They good inputs regarding studies from alumni and also about industry. They helped us to prepare for campus interviews.They also celebrate Graduation day.

Exam Structure

Every sem had 3 internals and One main exam.Labs weekly twice. Labs were interesting and research oriented.

Faculty were helpful. Supported in activities and conducting workshops and technical forums. Gave us directions on research .Made us work on current technology projects.

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.

A Journey Worth Remembering

When I was selecting an engineering college I applied to several reputed institutions in Karnataka including Dayananda Sagar College of engineering Acharya institute of technology CMR institute of technology but I couldn't make it due to slightly higher cutoff in CET. I finally choose MVJ college of engineering because of its location infrastructure academic environment and placement opportunities. Situated in Whitefield it's close to several IT companies which is better and increases internship and placement prospects. The campus is spacious clean and well equipped with modern labs and facilities the college also has good reputation under VTU for maintaining academic decipline and quality teaching.
