CHOOSE NMIT FOR BEST ENGINEERING LIFE

Various companies recruiting from the campus

The college provides 90 to 95% placement every year and internships for students who perform well in their academics and have skills. There is a special training for students to get placed in good companies. The companies visit the college are bosch,TCS, Infosys, phonepe, Wipro, sony, Microsoft, IBM, and many more.

Academic structure and examination timing in the campus

I have chosen electronics and communication engineering because I am interested in electronics as well as software so I have decided to take this branch over other branches. The teachers and the faculties are good except some. The internal exams timing duration is one and half hour and semester and exams timing duration is 3 hour

Total fees of the course and scholarship

The fees for students who got admission through KCET examination is about 100000 and students who got admission through comedk examination is 2.6 lakh and for the management students it depends upon the branch for our branch it is 5.5 lakh.

Various fest, clubs and library of the campus

There are many clubs in college namely art club, dance club, music club, and many technical club which provides a students a knowledge in all the fields. The library includes vast number of books for students and students can borrow books easily from the library. There are many extra curricular activities in college. And there is a techno fest in the month of May which is named as ANADYANTA.

On-campus living facilities and fee structure

The hostel rooms are well spacious and clean. And the price of the hostel is less as compared to the other colleges in Bangalore and the food at hostel mess is best. And the menu of the mess will be changed every month. The price of the hostel is 1.25 lakh per year.

Faculty and examination pattern of the college

The faculty is in our college are more knowledgeable persons and and doctorate holders. Also they provide the best train for students to get placed in well-known company with high package. Coming to the exam system in every semester there are two internal exams and one semester end exam.

Admission process being in the campus

I chosen nitte Meenakshi institute of technology over other college because the college have a high placement rate as well as hostels are good as compared to the any other colleges in Bangalore. And the college is in the top 10 colleges of banglore. Coming to the admission the student have to write Karnataka common entrance exam to get admission in this college.

Night Life

As mentioned earlier college is in the outskirts of the city so student have to hangout in the College only. And there is a gym facility many cafes bakeries in the college campus. The hostel doors will be closed at 10:00 p.m..

I chose this college mainly as it is a deemed to be university and one of the top colleges in Bangalore. It's a autonomous college. There is a great advantage over other VTU colleges. I didn't get rejections from other colleges as I set my priority to join this college or any other college of the same kind. One must score a very good ranking in KCET or COMED-K to join this college. Management seat is also available but it's very expensive.

NMIT: 16 Answered Questions

Which should I choose for CSE ISE between NIE Mysore and Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology?

SerendipitousSnail

Hey there! I'm currently studying CSE at NMIT, and I have some buddies in ISE too, so I can give you a bit of insight. Our college is autonomous, which means it sets its own rules and curriculum, making it a step above other VTU colleges.

When it comes to CSE, I can honestly say it's the highlight of NMIT. Everyone is super supportive, from the lab assistants to the Head of the Department, Dr. MN Thippeswamy. They really listen to students and give us second chances if we mess up. The teaching is top-notch, with lots of knowledgeable faculty members. If you have real issues, the department is always ready to help out. On the other hand, ISE is known to be a bit more strict, and some of my friends in ISE feel the pressure.

Mysore is a nice city and NIE is a great college too, but considering Bangalore is the tech hub, I'd suggest prioritizing the city. If you have the option to choose between ISE and CSE at NMIT, I'd definitely recommend going for CSE.

Which college is best NMIT or NHCE?

JadeJellyfish

From what I've seen and heard, NMIT stands out as a better choice compared to NHCE, especially if you're looking at B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. The faculty there is really supportive and many have solid academic backgrounds. The placement opportunities are impressive, with top companies like Amazon and Microsoft recruiting regularly. The average package for CSE graduates is around 7 LPA, which is quite good.

NHCE also has its merits, but I feel like NMIT offers a more comprehensive curriculum and a better campus environment. Events like Anaadyanta really enhance the student experience, making it more fulfilling.

In summary, if you're choosing between NMIT and NHCE for engineering, I'd say go for NMIT, especially for Computer Science.

Is NITTE worth joining?

AstralAntelope

I think NITTE is worth considering for B.Tech in Information Science and Engineering. The college offers a good number of internship opportunities, which is vital for practical experience. The placement scenario seems promising, with many companies visiting campus. The average package is around 6 LPA, and for those who work hard, there are decent opportunities available.

The fee structure for my course is about 2.4 lakhs, which is manageable. I feel that the college provides a solid foundation for students looking to enter the tech industry.

How is life at NMIT Bangalore?

GalacticGargoyle

If you're not from India, I would suggest reconsidering your decision to attend this college, and here's why. I'm a fourth-year student here, and I'm surprised at all the positive reviews. I have yet to meet anyone who actually likes it, including myself. You've probably read the good stuff by now, so let me share the challenges you might face if you choose to attend. Oh, and just so you know, I'm a Nepali student, so my experience might be different from a local student's.

There's a lot to cover, so this might get lengthy. Let's start with the hostel experience. The hostel rules are pretty odd, and it's good to know them beforehand. If you're a girl, expect a lot of gender-based restrictions. For instance, there’s a strict dress code: nothing shorter than ankle-length is allowed outside the hostel. Curfew times are also different for girls and boys. Boys can stay out until 10 pm, but girls must be back by 5:30 pm or 9:15 pm if they were already out. If girls want to go out after 5:30, they have to complete a bunch of paperwork. And if they come back after 5:30, they have to sign a log, which doesn’t exist for boys.

The food in the hostel mess is usually pretty bad, but I guess that’s common in many places. They did offer some special Nepali dishes for a short period, but it didn’t last long, despite what the promotional videos claim.

Now onto academics. It’s tough to find a good teacher who isn’t self-absorbed or moody and actually teaches well. While there are a few exceptions, most of what I learned came from YouTube and other sites, if you get what I mean.

Regarding semesters and exams, I'm in engineering, so here's my take: after the odd semester, you get about a week and a half off, and after the even semester, you get two and a half months. If you fail a subject, you must attend supplementary classes during the long break. For some students, there are makeup exams instead, but these are often announced just a day or two beforehand, leaving little time to prepare. If you fail the makeup, you’ll have to join the supplementary semester anyway.

You can request a re-evaluation if you think your exam was marked incorrectly, right after the results are out. Some faculty members are helpful, but when it comes to money matters, not so much. For instance, during the pandemic, we found out about a fee payment just a day before it was due. Being a Nepali student, online transactions aren’t possible, and we need a few days to arrange money transfers. When I asked the faculty about it, they ignored me, but suddenly remembered to ask if I paid after the due date. If you miss the payment deadline, the late fees are hefty.

It's not unusual for education to feel like a business, but here, the management is so poor that it feels like you should be paid to do their jobs. Both the faculty and facilities are below average for a college. This has been my experience at NMIT over the past three years.

Thanks for reading through this long post. I hope it helps, and feel free to share it with anyone who might need this info. If you thrive on challenges, NMIT might be just the place for you.

Update: Some people asked if they should join NMIT, and my advice is...

How is NMIT?

MidnightMoth

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology is a top-notch college in Bangalore. The campus facilities are impressive, and the faculty is great. For students living in hostels, the rooms are comfortable, have fast WiFi, and the food is tasty and clean.

The college also offers NCC, which ranks second in Karnataka. Hostel residents have parking options, and there are food courts on campus. The placement opportunities are fantastic, with most students landing jobs at reputable companies with good salaries. I strongly suggest students consider NMIT, as it's an outstanding choice.

Which college is better RNS IT or Nitte Meenakshi?

VaporwaveWalrus

Hey there, If you're asking my personal opinion, I'd pick NMIT. Here's why: In the NIRF rankings, NMIT holds the 100th spot among engineering colleges in India. Since it's an autonomous institute, the curriculum gets updated regularly with new tech, making it easier to score higher marks compared to VTU colleges, which can boost your SGPA.

The faculty at NMIT are generally supportive and helpful, especially if you show interest in your subjects and ask for assistance. Most of them go out of their way to help, though there are always exceptions. The placement record is pretty solid too. Big companies like Microsoft, Subex, Nutanix, Celestream Technologies, Mu-Sigma, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, L&T InfoTech, and Mindtree visit for recruitment, although there's always room for improvement.

Just a tip: it's a good idea to visit both campuses to get a feel for the atmosphere, location, and commuting options before making a choice. Remember, your dedication is what truly matters, as most private colleges offer similar placement opportunities. Hope you find this helpful. Best wishes!

What is your review of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology??

BookBinder

I chose the Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication Engineering at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology because of its good placement records. The faculty is mostly PhD holders, which adds to the quality of education. The exams are frequent but manageable; we have three mid-semester exams along with one end-semester exam each semester.

The highest package offered last year was around 45 LPA, and the average package is around 6 LPA. I’m really satisfied with my decision to study here, especially with the opportunities for internships and placements provided by companies like Infosys and Wipro.

How was your 1st year at NMIT Bangalore?

WordWeaver

My first year at NMIT Bangalore went quite well. Settling in was a breeze because the seniors were really helpful and friendly, and the teachers were nice too. They explained everything I needed to know, like how the credit system works and what I needed to do to pass each year.

As someone living in the hostel, the only hassle was that NMIT is pretty far from the city center. However, Bengaluru Cross is just about 3 km away, and I could always find an auto rickshaw when I needed one. All in all, it was a great year, both at the college and in the hostel. I think it's one of the top colleges in Bangalore.

Is it worth going to the NMIT?

PhantomPelican

I believe attending NMIT for my Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering has been beneficial. The faculty are knowledgeable, and the teaching methods are effective. The exams are held frequently, which keeps you on your toes, but they are not overly difficult if you're attentive in class.

The placement opportunities are decent, with a high percentage of students getting placed, particularly in IT roles. The annual fest, Anadyanta, is also a great experience, adding to the overall college life.

How is the hostel of Walchand college of engineering Sangli respective to accommodation and food?

MythicMuse

The hostel facilities at Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, are pretty decent but have their ups and downs. I stay in the girls' hostel, and the fee is around 25k per year. The rooms can accommodate four girls, and while the food is generally good, it can get repetitive. We get breakfast and two meals daily, but the menu doesn’t change much. Overall, I think it’s manageable, but it could be better.
