Is NITTE worth joining?

I think NITTE is worth considering for B.Tech in Information Science and Engineering. The college offers a good number of internship opportunities, which is vital for practical experience. The placement scenario seems promising, with many companies visiting campus. The average package is around 6 LPA, and for those who work hard, there are decent opportunities available.

The fee structure for my course is about 2.4 lakhs, which is manageable. I feel that the college provides a solid foundation for students looking to enter the tech industry.

As a student from NIT Manipur, I'd suggest picking a better option on the mainland if you have one. The connectivity with the mainland isn't great, which can affect your education. The infrastructure isn't as developed as the older NITs, but it's still better than some other NITs in the northeast. There has been some progress with the construction of a permanent campus, but there's more to do. On the bright side, we have excellent internet and library facilities.

If you're considering branches, the Civil branch is solid, and the CSE department is also a good choice due to its strong faculty. The highest packages have reached up to 15 lakh per year, but placements are improving since our college started in 2010. With fewer students here, it's easy to know everyone in your batch, unlike larger colleges.

If having the NIT label matters to you and you're ready to put in extra effort in your studies, this could be a good fit. Many alumni have landed jobs at big companies like Nokia, HP, Huawei, IBM, TCS, and Wipro, among others.

Hey there! I'm currently doing my B.Tech at NIT-M (2017-21), so I think I can give you a decent overview. Last year, I was in the same boat, unsure about my choice. I'll break it down for you and rate each aspect out of 5.

First off, NIT-M is one of the newer NITs, so it's still growing.

Infrastructure: The campus moved to Langol about 3-4 years ago from Takyel. It's still a work in progress with lots more to be done. (2 out of 5)

Faculty: The teaching staff is a mix of great and average, but they all have PhDs. The Chemistry department stands out. (3/5)

Library: You'll find most books here, but for the really good ones, a trip to the Takyel campus is needed. (3/5)

Sports and Extracurriculars: If you're into sports and events, you'll like it here. The college hosts OUGRI, a big cultural fest with events like quizzes, debates, treasure hunts, and more. There's also a sports event featuring cricket, kabaddi, and more. The INTER NIT TOURNAMENTS are a highlight. (3.5/5)

Food and Mess: Probably the weakest part. We've complained a lot, and the quality has improved a bit, but it's still lacking. (2.5/5)

Students and Seniors: You'll find a great bunch of students here, especially among the General and OBC groups. Competition pushes you to excel, and the seniors are very supportive, running clubs to help everyone improve.

Placements: Everyone wants to know about this. CSE has the top placements, with the highest being around 18 lacs per annum by Microsoft this year (2017-18). ME had offers of 17.5 lacs per annum. EE and ECE did alright, with offers around 7 lacs. Average placements aren't thrilling, but there are pool campus placements, and a lot depends on your performance. (2.5/5)

Being a part of NIT has its perks. If there's a better state college option, consider that, but NIT-M is a decent choice otherwise. • Manipur is less developed, so basic amenities might be lacking. For example, finding good coaching for exams like GATE or learning new computer software can be tough due to limited resources.
• It's not one of the top NITs, so facilities and education might not be the best.

I would say NITTE is a decent choice, especially for B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The faculty is quite knowledgeable, and they help us with projects and internships. The college has a good placement record, with companies like Infosys and TCS visiting regularly. The average package is about 6 LPA, which is decent.

However, I do feel that the curriculum could be updated a bit more frequently to keep up with industry trends. The fee structure is around 2.6 lakhs for COMEDK, which is on the higher side, but overall, I think it’s worth it.
