Remarks

It's just not a college where you go and get a degree. You live a LIFE, you will experience a whole lot of things that you used to dream. You will study to get marks, you will have friends for life time and an experience that worth spending time for.

Entrance Preview

I wrote separate exam conducted by Manipal for admissions. I exactly don't remember my score. I choose the best from my kitty.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was good. They tell you subjects and their content on the day of orientation. They are strict about their attendance and marks. Classes are modern (centralized air condition) with modern equipment (projectors). If you want some research college try their best to get is sponsored. In case you missed some lab you can go and get it done. I rate it as a overall a nice development

Internships Opportunities

Yes, they call many companies for internship and it's totally up to the candidate to crack it up. They gave us plenty of opportunity and apart from it our department send our CV's to many companies in regard of internship. Most of candidates get internship.

College Events

4.5

There are numerous events throughout year. They have tech fest and cultural fest in the month of February mostly. In this fest they celebrate it ultimately. Their are numerous events including inter college fashion show and other cultural and technical events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive I must say.! I am attaching the present total fee structure. B Tech (Computer Science/ Computer&Communication / Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics) 14,11,000. B Tech (Electrical Electronics/ Civil/ Information Technology/ Aeronautical ) 14,11,000 B Tech (Chemical/ Automobile) 14,11,000. B Tech (Instrumentation&Control/ Biomedical/ Biotechnology/ Industrial. Production/ Printing&Media) 11,56,000

Campus Life

4.5

College takes care of extracurricular. there is a swimming pool in the campus (membership -200 per semester), a gym (membership-100 per semester), a basketball court(free of cost), central library (no charge). There are many clubs which organises competition time to time. College take care of all the interests whether it will be arts, science, cars, or anything.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities were really good. There are many hostels and candidate can choose as per their budget. Mess is clean.Every month end they serve special food and there is a separate floor for veg and non veg. moreover apart from regular food there is chef on wheels where you can pay and eat.

Alumni/Alumna

yes. Indeed. I am in contact with few of my batch-mate and junior as well. They are all doing well and wherever any help is required they do their part. Many are doing research and few joined co-operate sector. So if anyone needs any help in any regard we try to do. We all are connected through groups on social media and yes, it is difficult to meet now as everyone is busy with their social responsibilities.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was pretty same like other colleges. For sessionals we used to have 2 test 1 hour each, a day and for finals we used to have a paper for 3 hours every alternate day. For practicals we used to get a day for 2 hours practical. After that we used to get to see our marks as well before they upload it finally on the website (for sessionals). In case of any back there is a makeup paper after the announcement of result. Final results includes everything.(marks, sessionals, assignment and yes attendance also matters 75% latest).

Admission

Once you clear their online examination they call you for counselling. On the day of counselling you will be sitting in rooms and there will be live feed of seats you can select. On the day of admission you need to submit the fee amount and it is mandatory to open an account with SBI,manipal bacause they issue ID card on their ATM .

Faculty

4.5

Faculty was humble and was always ready to help in every possible way. we have their mail-id's as well as phone number in case if we want to approach them for any reason. Faculty was friendly as well. Apart from education and syllabus they kept us posted regarding job vacancies and other future options

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mtech Thermal Engineering because I was interested in thermal subjects like Fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, CFD. The Curriculum is pretty decent and it does covers the fundamentals and advanced topics of the particular subject but it could be better in terms of imparting practical and industrial knowledge. The exams that are held in NITK are competitive and requires a good understanding of the subject. You simply cannot cram and get good marks in exam. You have to know the proper implementation of that particular formula or theory.

Campus placement conditions have improved in IISc after the inception of campus placement cell. Average package is around I would say 25 lpa. Since most of the students go for higher studies from IISc hence, you will see the placement percentage to be low. Personality I am also going for higher studies.
