Well structured. Mostly courses will help you in doing good research in this domain. Toughness of the courses depends on from which stream you are from. As it is a multidisciplinary field one will find other discipline courses little tougher. There will be continuous assessment through assignments, mid exams, Presentations and mini projects.

As it is a new department and only few batches passed out from the departments, placements are very well established in this department. There is an affiliation with very good international companies.Placement is not a big issue, but to get a job which is aligned to your research is difficult As the students are doing a very motivated research for two years, they is a general tendency to look for research oriented jobs. In India research centers are very less.

Think nano, ISSS, Symposium, IEEE workshops . These are the technology based programs conducted in the department. Think Nano and ISSS are conference . Students and faculty from through out India attends these. There will be presentations by Nobel Laureates and eminent researches from various universities on diverse topics.

Pre Year: 14000. Which can be easily paid from the stipend what students get. For M tech students: 12000. They charge around 4000 for food and stay in hostel .So it is sufficient for basic needs of a student. For the facilities they provide the fees we pay are nominal.

CeNSE has IEEE connections via a student chapter. IEEE funds one conference for the PhD scholars in our department.

Campus is very beautiful, not exaggerating, in all corners, with a huge bio diversity of its own. Snake seeing, Robins, fireflies and what not. There will be cultural activity groups like rangmanch. You can always explore drama, music, dance, poetry, yoga, trekking and many more.

Hostel is good. You will get individual rooms . Cleaned rooms. 4 types of mess are there. North Indian Veg, South Indian Veg and NON Veg in both too. Around Rs 4000 is charged for both mess and hostel combined. Guests are allowed. there is provision for making your parents stay in guest house also.

Seniors are extremely helpful. As is the work and assignments are so exhausting, people will be very help full to each other.

Exams will be tough. They wont test your memory. they always test your understanding. In some courses you will be having open book , open internet exams. As the grading is relative as long as you are in the same boat as your class mates you can acquire good grade

By attending an interview process . They select students for interview based on gate score. In interview they don't care about your gate score but ask how well you are basics and concepts. In Sense they want electronic device physics engineers, physicists and mechanical engineers. They will ask about engineering project as well.

Highly Qualified and motivated faculty. They are the super heroes for the students. Very open minded and sensible. Each faculty has their own labs in which they will be doing their research. With the experience they have they never disappoints students in giving guidance through their project works. You can always go to any faculty for clarifications.
