Remarks
Its a good college i would say as It was my college and though it didn't gave me any useful knowledge or job placement I have learned a lot from those 4 years of my life.
Entrance Preview
AIEEE, My marks was 83, It was a govt. college. Thought the education system would be better and might get a job after that.
Course Curriculum Overview
Its was an average experience. Now that i'm out of the college and I have to compete with other students, I have realized that we were not taught anything . Except few subjects all were taught as much as you require to pass the semester examination as the question paper was set in the college itself.
Internships Opportunities
Few companies came for other branches like mechanical, EC, CS. But none for Biotech or civil. We had to look for ourselves on our own. and thus still struggling.
Placement Experience
No placement and job oppertunity. Simply none, only few gets placed . During my period of time honda came, and wipro and adobe. Salary packages offered to them were good like 35k/month in honda and 80k in adobe and 20k in wipro. Rest majority students like myself might be wondering why i choose this college.
College Events
There are basically two events that takes place: one is a cultural event called Goonj and the other Sports event. Both runs for 3 days. they are mostly celebrated with lots of enthusiasm as there is nothing else(source of entertainment or recreation in the region). Cultural event hold various events like play, drama, dance, musical event and includes technical events which just sounds technical and nothing fruitful comes out of it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. It was about 30-35, 000 per month including tuition and hostel fees for general category students. If you were a BPL or a SC/ST you would get scholarship. There is no pressure on the money part i guess as it was a govt institution.
Campus Life
Campus life was good. though the faculty used to taunt a lot to every pair they see roaming around though they be couples or friends or even cousins. The view of the college is amazing. Simply at a height of 1600 M, it is heaven and parties continues like in every other hill station. It taught me how to live a life.
Hostel Facilities
4 person in one room in one year, same in second year though for some branch there were 3 per room, 3 per room in 3rd year and single room or 2 in one room in final year. rooms were live-able. washrooms were like public toilet .e.g: the 3rd year hostel has 6 bathroom, 4 basin, and 6 toilet for 60 students which were not cleaned regularly though the cleaning charge was included in our hostel fees.
Alumni/Alumna
There is no alumni network. we barely have an idea about what out senior does. I have heard that the college holds alumni when there is no students in college so that they can offer the empty hostel to the alumni students. But its been about 2 years since i have passed out, never have heard of any invitation for our batch or any past batch that i know of.
Exam Structure
We had 3 class test per semester, and an semester exam that includes written test as well as laboratory skills. (which was none as there is no equipment to do an actual research). each year includes two semester . It was completely chilled out. Question papers were made in the college and checked by the same faculty just like in School !
Faculty
Like in every other college i guess. Few were very helpful and supportive. the was a sir Dr. Harish Chandra , currently posted in srinagar, garhwal, he was an actual professor, who knew how to make someone interested in his subject, there were just a few like him. Most were the same giving downloaded notes and preparing the semester paper from the same. So to sum up the entire faculty standards, given that its an govt. engineering college, I would say its the same as in other govt. bodies.
